Gtr All Wheel Drive Problem

Hey need some help here,

my gtr when sitting at certain speeds the awd torque split guage flickers and the car hunts ehat is causing this and how do I rectify it??

hunts? what do you mean hunts?

maybe your transfer case is stuffed from you putting higher profile tyres on the front and drifting. Does it like sorta engage or make the car shudder or something?

Are your tyres exactly the same size front and back?

Tyres are the same, my gtr came with a "kanzai" switch in the boot that turns off abs and awd great for drifting/smokeshows.

For example holding about 80kph it feels like it is binding and releasing when the needle moves on the torque split guage, I have checked for fluid level and leaks and thats all good, the tyres are the same size. It has never been right from the day I got it from japan, Im thinking maybe its the kanzai that is piggybacked on the awd computer.

Another problem now, my power steer is full of fluid although after a while of driving the steering gets stiff and the hicas light comes on?

You need to ensure all the wheel speed sensors are working. An intermittent fault in one of these will give you the sort of symptoms you descride.

check ya hicas comp under rear parcel shelf passenger side in boot and see if you get a flashing red light thatwill tell u if its a fault of the hicas

There is a diagnostic test for the Atessa system. Its detailed in the GTR manual. Do a search for it and d\l it then run thru what it says to do. Hopefully this will help.

the hicas light coming on after driving for a while is probably a crooked steering wheel. Pull the wheel off and make sure it is on straight (ie drive for about 20m in a straight line then put the wheel on straight.

then see if you are still having problems
