Hey guys,

I understand all your points of view, cos when you read what oscar32 has written, sure, seems i come off like the bad guy.

so ill keep it short, say what i wanna say, and stay outta your way :(

1. The cams where linished and straightened before being sent to oscar,

2. The half moon in the end of the intake cam that aligns with the CAS is snapped off. i was still using the cam like this, the cam was fine, and oscar32 was notified of the exact problem before he bought the cams.

3. as i remember the steering wheel, it was slightly fading on the very top. rest was perfect.

you can all think what you like, its a free country, Not once did i refuse do anything about it. what i did do is tell oscar that i was unable to refund him the money due to my current financial situation.

Keeping in mind i sold the cams to him and it was many many months later he came to me with his problem..

Anyway, i have never had a problem dealing with anyone on this forum. or nissansilvia, or the 50+ transactions ive made on OCAu.

Cheers guys,

Steve

p.s. Clarkey -> Its steve (andrews son) from golf :)

Clarkey is someone who knows me outside of the internet and knows im a genuine kid.

im not here to stuff people around. :)

Cheers

right so the times when people have asked for a refund and you have said

"i dont have any money you cant do anything to me"

is that false ?

Yes, that IS true. Steve has never said "I don't owe you anything"... just that he won't refund for stuff as he can't afford it, right or wrong.

I took months to get back to you as that's when my engine was built. I don't think I'm the first person to build up the parts before a build.... when both gauges didn't work it took you months to sort anything with me (two months actually, found all the old email).

You told me the wheel was "like new" (I have your email to back this up.)

You sounded genuine right up until I wanted something back, then ignored me sighting your lack of funds as a reason. Sorry mate - you may not be a bad person. But you've done the wrong thing by me, and honestly, I've been very kind in the way I've spoken about your actions. I'm certainly not the "bad guy". I went out of my way to make things easy for you.

When things go wrong when you sell stuff, its up to you to fix that - I've had to do it in order to make sure people are happy - even though it put me out. It happens in buisiness - and you just deal with it. Basically, you don't have the funding to back up your sales in case things go wrong.. I've even offered to take 1/4 of the money back and send you everything, just to get something.

So, end of day - you are a great kid, not stuffing people around.... lets take the cams out of our dealing shall we?

I've got $250 worth of parts I can't use. Both gauges are totally stuffed, and the wheel (relentless of your opinions) is not in good enough condition to be used in ANY of my cars, after it was described as new BY YOU.

I hate I had to winge in a post just to get a response from you also. I'd much rather have just sorted this quietly.

But you wouldn't stuff me around now, would you? you are genuine.

haha so he can sell them to other people and rip them off too?

Probably

Man, I just want some of my money back - not even all of it. Just a refund of my gauge purchase price would do it - its better than what I've got now.

But, buyer beware - if you are unhappy with your purchase in any way - too bad. Your money is in the "Steve Birch fund".... gone.

*EDIT**

I just noticed something interesting. Why is someone with no money offering to buy an $1100 turbo???

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...1entry2086311

So, now you are a liar. You've always told me you have NO money (like ast time it was $22.)

Very helpful, thankyou.

I'm sure if it was your money, you'd like some of it back too.

hahaha no....i certainly wouldnt be whinging about over the internet.... you want to know what i would be doing???I would just turn up and give him a belting....its quite simple really. And dont say he lives to far away coz i would, and have travelled distances that by far outweighs a debit just to give someone a tune up

hahaha funny thing is hes not joking

When I talked to Steve about this, initially he was helpful but ignored me once I wanted anything back. He is happy for me just to leave it as is. I told him I would give everything back to him - then I got a PM with him keen to meet up.

Bloody oath i'd take them back, The cams are still usuable, if i had a gtr i'd use em.

This skyline steve guy is still ripping people off??

Isent he associated with maztech?

Dont make assumptions(sp?)

I have no idea who this skyline steve is.

Memph and skylinesteve

... are not the same person

Ok, I didn't explain this well.

Initally when I bought the gauges, Steve din't have the money to pay me back. I accepted this (having been a student myself) and took the wheel insted of cash. When I found out it was shonky, he offered me these "fresh machined" cams at a discounted price, at the time it seemed a good idea - and again I felt sorry for him being a poor student with no money to pay me back. I'm prepared to admit thats a bit stupid, however I was just trying to do the right thing by someone whos story I beleived.

Anyhow, I know there was an issue, however Steve told me the V spec cams were different to the standard ones, and these were fresh.... which clearly they are not.

I waited to give him time to fix this issue, and now after speaking to admin this post was the next step.

Dont worry mate, make me sound as bad as you can while making yourself sound like an angel, im sure that in some way helps your case....

The cams were balanced, linished and straightened before you recieved them, and were then in a car for around 500k's

The fact that you simply dont belive me doesnt bother me in the slightest.

hmm ive dealt with him ( a while back now) but he was fine.. quick, easy, no drama's....

as have around 15 - 20 other SAu members, 50+ OCAu members, and many Nissansilvia members. never a drama.

Sounds like yet another case of buyer beware to me.

Correct, Before he bought the cams, he was 100% informed of their condition. the cams themselves are both perfectly usuable. Though seemingly that doesnt bother him.

right so the times when people have asked for a refund and you have said

"i dont have any money you cant do anything to me"

is that false ?

Ive never once said that. what have you got to do with any of this?

Yes, that IS true. Steve has never said "I don't owe you anything"... just that he won't refund for stuff as he can't afford it, right or wrong.

Correct, I have always told you i simply cannot pay you back.

I have never once said we are square forget about it.

I have never once said im happy to leave things the way they are.

You told me the wheel was "like new" (I have your email to back this up.)

And i have the photo here that i showed you. when i sent that wheel to you it was pretty shmick, i had it on my car for like 3 months from new,

it was barely scratched, only reason i got rid of it is cos it had a flat bottom, and i didnt like that. Nor did i really like the entire style of the wheel. Much happier with my new one.

Make him an offer Steve. Repair your reputation.

I honestly dont know what to offer. I am an unemployed student who has only ever made money by buying and selling parts. I have never once tried to stuff someone around, or sold something "shonky" to someone. nor have i sold something in worse condition than stated PURELY to save my arse from things like this, becuase i know that i am not in a position to refund if something like this happens.

hahaha no....i certainly wouldnt be whinging about over the internet....

You have a clue.

Over the internet, Sure, it may be the only way to comminicate.

But in public, 100% unnessacary.

This has not aided his situation in any way as my situation hasnt changed.

The only way this cos be of any advantage to him is if someone can come up with a solution.

and considering no one really knows me, nor him (i guess), that could be very hard.

Cheers

Steve

EDIT: I dont know why the quotes havent worked, i had a look over it but cant figure it out :P

Cheers

Memph, i dont know u or oscar32. but im on Memph's side. i dont know whether Memph did anything wrong or not, but to explain why im on his side is that..

one day i goto the forum as usual check my PM and i get a PM from oscar32 saying "Next time you want to say something shut your mouth". and i hav no idea wat he was talking about so i checked all my posts ive done and nothing ever related to oscar32.

i ask him what are you talking about and he goes "just shut up end of story" so i tell him to "go f urself" cause he got no proof and makes all these accusations AND I DONT EVEN KNOW HIM!

Most people who kno me on forum & the ones ive dealt with can back me up that i wouldnt say stuff liek that to other members. all i do on this forum is ask for help & buy/sell stuff. i dont make comments. this is my first comment since you pissed me off so much making random accusations at me.

off topic, but i wanted to share that.

Yeah, you had a comment when I was getting slammed publicly (on the for sale forums) for something I didn't do in relation to another sale.

So, insted of saying anything public, I addressed you in PM's. You swore at me publicly, I did it privatley - You might be a nice person, but I'd had enough of everyones 2c. You basically judged me knowing.... well nothing, as you have here. I've pmed you the link if you'd like to check, retard.

Next time, keep your nose out of where it doesn't belong.....

I didn't particuarly want to post anything, but Steve was no longer responding to me. So I put it in the related state thread given it gets less traffic than the for sale thread. I asked, and asked for any type of offer, and was then ignored.

Steve, without the cam issue, I still have a steering wheel that was NOT in good condition, and gauges that DON'T work, both of which I paid for.

THATS THE ISSUE.

If you make all your money here, surley you would be happy to cut me a deal - just to avoid this drama.

So, if you can't give me money it up to you to make an offer..

Sounds like a joke of a situation to me

I've always been against threads like this because its the internet... no-one knows exactly whats gone on and there is always people bullsh|ting from thier own side.

For this thread to stay open, i wanna see the following

1) Osacar - Take a pic of the steering wheel and post it up.

2) Memph - Whats the situation with these gauges?

You cant really sell something that is broken

Other than that, oscar, if you feel hard done by, take it to the courts and argue your point there.

Im sure then all the true story will come out with true e-mail print outs and crap that we cant see here on a forum.

I am also of the opinion that the cams fall into the buyer beware category but the steering wheel needs a pic or 3 posted and the gauges seem to have been glossed over by Memph when they seem to me to be the root of all this. There isn't much to say about a transaction that goes 1. buy/sell gauges, 2. they don't work.

I would just like to say that I have met Steve twice to buy things and he is an alright bloke and sold things to me for a reasonable price. I can't back up any side of the story (noone can) because I haven't seen any of the stuff. It is always a gamble buying stuff you haven't seen. This has not detered me and I will be buying from him in the future (When I get some cash). my 2c...

So, anyone else had any drama's with this guy? I'm down $450 bucks and have a bunch of usless crap. I'm not happy, and Steve sure isn't helping.

So which is it mate first your saying $450 and now its $250 ? ? ? ? ?

And how are the gauges f**ked? They worked fine when i last saw them maybe you just need new sensors?

:O

no need for that - R31Nismoid

Edited by R31Nismoid

Thanks for that forcd6.

Nice photo.

The gauges are stuffed, the sendor for the pressure gauge was cut off (probably by you), and the spring in the water temp gauge will not work (I had it checked).

I'm talking different parts in those two statements, nice miss-quote.

Steve has known about this for quite some time, and has chosen to do nothing about it (although stating he knows he has to). Hopefully this issue is about to resolve itself anyhow, I've never said Steve wasn't reasonable, just that this is an issue, and has been for some time.

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
