Hi guys has anyone heard of these turbos

i mean i know they are propably cheep and nasty, but for that price, just get one to try.

Is it a suitable upgrade for a GTST R33?

please do a search. this turbo and various turbocharger upgrades (notably cheap ebay ones) have been covered extensively in the last month.

in summary;

-> its about 8k worth of mods to make it useable

-> theyre cheap chinese units that will fail

-> it will be a laggy unit and will be very peaky (read: lag city, then wheelspin)

btw the t04E was good back in 1978. its likely to be plain bearing, oil cooled only. your standard turbocharger unit is water and oil cooled, ball bearing

The typical ebay special t04e will fail......very very few actually work for more then 10000kms(If their shafts dont snap on initial startup) and then people that have rebuilt them have had them fail again due to the poor construction and design(no fault of the rebuilder). All of these turbo have different markings on their compressor housings but they are still the same cheap rubbish at heart.

So to answer the question directly no they wont meet your needs.....
