What Exhaust size should I go for, for an R31?

What is the best exhaust size I should be running with an RB20 turbo engine?

I am told that 2.5" is good, but is there any benefit for going larger if the turbo is only a stock one from an R32?

go a straight through 3" or bigger system

Performance wise on any turbo engine, go as big as you can. I would definitly go 3".

A huge exhaust can become a disadvantage...... there is such a thing as 'too big'

go the 3", so that when you do go for more power you wont need to change the exh again

pffft ive now got 3" all the way from the turbo with no cat and a straight through muffler "I think" so im gonna get another muffler straight through barrel style to see if it sounds a bit better,and maybe flow a bit better

Actually on turbo cars you want the least restriction in the exhaust you can get. On N/A cars backpressure plays a role, and you can sacrifice mid-range. On turbo cars the turbo itself creates more than enough restriction, so you want as big an exhaust as you can fit soas not to add more restriction.
