A huge exhaust can become a disadvantage...... there is such a thing as 'too big' :)

Actually on turbo cars you want the least restriction in the exhaust you can get. On N/A cars backpressure plays a role, and you can sacrifice mid-range. On turbo cars the turbo itself creates more than enough restriction, so you want as big an exhaust as you can fit soas not to add more restriction.
