Why Does My Hicas Light Comes On?

hi guys,

my hicas light is constantly on what does this mean? can someone help please?

Mine was coming on only at low speed and then the car would cut out alltogether, got my car serviced this week,my hicas was fine but the problem was caused by my revs being too low, since then no probs..but if yours is on all the time I would get it checked asap..

mine keeps coming on after a few kms but the stupid hicas is still on, why oh why nissan put this in their skylines i wonder!

you could always get nissan to check it out and pay a billion dollars to fix it? :domokun:

Common problem apparently, many causes. I just got mine fixed the other week, the actual HICAS computer was f**ked. Replaced it with a 2nd hand one and no more problems. But its very rare the problem is the actual computer.

hey there

another common problem apart from those already mentioned is that if the steering wheel has been removed, and the hicas steering angle sensor isn't set at the correct position, the computer will think you're driving in circles doing whatever speeds, and so will put up the light to say there must be a malfunction..

its possible.. my gtr was like it when i got it...

      Ahhh, that, yeah, but it all worked out well in the end As for the ITB noises, I don't really wind it out with her in the car, and the dort only really starts dorting hard when your WOT or up it hard

      I'll tell her I put in a new air filter on it, which, it would have anyway with the ITB's In the end she isn't to fussed, she spends lots of money on hair, nails, make-up and all the other "required" beauty products that women use, plus I grease the wheels with shiny gifts and holidays wherever and whenever I can She once questioned my car spending "budget", but after itemising everything she spends on herself, and what I spend on her, and the fact that I don't care if she does or doesn't wear make-up and fancy pants perfume, or requires new outfits for every wedding, funeral or anything else she deems worthy, and I'm quite happy to go "real" camping, instead of staying in hotels or jaunts on cruise ships, she decided not to press the subject on how I spend funds, and has never asked "how much did that cost" again, so a win to me And how often can you say you really get a win with the fairer sex? She is a good woman, and in the big picture, I'm really lucky.....that she hasn't killed me yet

      Will the clear coat dissolve the ink tho?? I thought about clear vinyl tape too. Thinking what to do haha. The one I have now is cracked in 1 spot, otherwise mint. Plus the MINES one is much thicker plastic material so its not flimsy at all.
