Changeing Plugs

hi, im putting in a new set of platinum plugs which i have gapped to .8 into my 33, however i cannot get hold of a compressor (evey1 i know who has 1 is away, has busted theirs or isnt answering their phones) so i was just woundring if it is really all that necessary to clean the area around the plugs with compressed air prior to removal?
