I'm sure we're all fu%#in sick to death with the cops in this city. They label all car enthusiasts hoons and chase us away from any spot we go to.

I have watched thursday cruise night go sour in a big way over the past 6 months- especially milton. I'm sure most of you agree. I propose that owners of serious/decent cars on SAU and other forums respond to this post and allow me to pm you back with more details.

I can't post meeting spots online because we all know cops look at this forum.

Our group want to meet people first (probably milton on thursday), so we can be sure that no 'undesirables'- ie. cops, will be tagging along with us. Cruises will be organised via SMS or Cb's. There are so many great spots for all types of driving :bunny: in brisbane where cops never go..

Sorry for the big post, and i hope this post doesn't get locked-- We have the right to drive our cars, so lets stop being soft and do it.

You also have the right to not swear on a public forum... Edited...

You also have the right to join the club and attend member cruises...

Ok on a nicer note:

You can post details of your proposed meet in the public forum. The Police believe it or not dont want to be a$$holes, they are simplly doing their job.

You mentioned Milton for instance. McDonalds have not compalined about the extra business a Thursday night brings to them. BP on the other hand have complained to the Police about theft of products and fuel almost every thursday night.

The other complaints have come from XXXX, 2 months ago a truck hit a WRX in the Black st which was totally the WRX's fault. The down side is that most of the truck drivers drive like tools to scare people and run close to cars on purpose to intimidate.

So Milton is now classed as a hot spot due to the amount of complaints generated by the local business on a Thursday night. Not cause the Police feel like it.

It goes the same for any spots where many people meet. Aspley is fairly wild some nights and this calls for action. I have seen 2 people run over in that carpark before which caused a massive punch up with about 50 people involved and over 10 cars with major damage. You need to understand that everyone thinks their hard done by when they deal with the police but thats not the case. Where were the Police when this punch up occured???

Yes there are some really nasty cops but there are also nice ones. Last Thursday night i was at Milton, i was enjoying a few beers with mates at the entrance and talking cars. One copper came along and said "Having a few beers boys". We said yeah, he said "fair enough, as long as ya not driving". 10 minutes later the owner of the car i was in was about to be fined for having fishing rod holders on his bullbar. The copper yelled uit out from 20 metres away. Everyone one around freaked out as tho it was gonna be a ticket blitz. As the copper got closer he said "Take off down the side street and remove the rod holder for next time".

SAU has never attracted Police attention to a cruise or meeting point in the past. As the Police know us a suporters of the law and we encourage racing for the track. Not to mention we do not menice people when we meet or cruise.

Sorry about the long post but i felt it was nessary to explain from the police prospective.

In short please post up the details of your cruise.

If you wish to meet and greet we make it public knowledge not secretive. If you are on the other hand suggesting that the cruise may contain illegal activities then let me be the first to say "Not on SAU".

Please PM me your intentions.

many of us are over the cruise thing for the very problems mentioned-easier to do a nice solo drive somewhere and avoid the "group" mentality as the police often refer to. Doesnt mater which car I take or how slow I drive or how well behaved, I and many others have been fined and defected until the wallet says enough. Last time i was at Milton in my missus stock fkn standard 180sx with new everything i still got done for "dull" parker lights-dead set over the whole thing

    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
    • Stock O2 sensors are narrowband. They're useless once you're away from stoich. IE, useless for what you're trying to do. 10:1 will read the same as 14:1 from the stock O2 sensors. That is, they'll read rich. The same level of rich.
    • I agree once misfires happen it's basically worthless, but the hope is you can see what's happening in the run up to that.
    • You should totally get a Brumby, and then come pick up the Subaru Liberty GTB I have here. EJ25 Turbo, 6 speed manual from the sti (just no dccd), and the good rear diff. Drop all that into a Brumby and go have fun!
