Hey, i was just wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me in a meet and cruise on Thursday the 27th of this month....

Will meet at DFO parking lot around 8:30, and leave at 9:15 .. We will cruise through the city, then up to a lookout on Mt cootha for a chat and photos etc. then when we feel satisfied we will cruise back down to a parking lot with somewhere for food and drinks.. ((this location to be organised as i dont know my way around the city))

We went out Mt cootha a few weeks ago to find it packed.

However half way down the mountain there is a large gravel area. Where many people pull over to share a moment. But its big enough to house many skylines for a photo opp.

Im not sure how low is too low to get into this area. May want to scout it out first. But it is perfectlly normal to see a few cars parked there. Its public land and can easily used and then we can push on again.

I suggest a few long expsure shots on this spot will achieve a fantastic result.

yeah, i missed the last cootha run.

ive just been looking at whereis.com.au to find good ways there etc, if mt cootha is going to be packed, then maybe another destination, but if everyone is happy with cootha ,even though it was down fortnight ago, i will write up times and routes...

Mate the gravel area im talking about is huge and mostlly un populated until after 10-11 at night... (As people are ready to make a moment, if you know what i mean. :()

Anyways ill dig up a map and try and point out where the area is. This spot is awsome for night time long exposure photography and im more than keen to try it out tommorrow night to see what its like.

This is the spot im talking about...

If ya want go and have a look at it. Quite obvious where it is. As you pass it you will notice exactlly why i suggested it. Cause at night you can have your car in the for-ground and the city in the back ground and it would look amazing...

The area there is around the outside of that bend...

ah true that, i might go down there tomorrow night some time and scope it all out.....

col if u dont mind me asking, would u be abe to pm me with details about costs, and good places for paint jobs, is about time i got my custom graffity key lines off my left side and boot..

cheers.

Straight from my CCD to your screen...

The entrance and surface to this area is good. It has been done in road base and is very safe even for the lowest of skylines. There is heaps of room to "line" em up... LOL

It was a bit overcast tonight so the pic is not the best. But you get the drift...

awesome pic col, yeah, the spot looks good. i edited the first post, so fingers crossed for good weather, sorry i didnt get back to yuo earlier i would have loved to come for that drive.

Here is another picture for you...

My camera was playing up a little due dust on the ccd from when i was in fiji...

So here is another photo, no modifing just straight from the ccd to you... (With a slight photoshop resizing)

Notice the light reflection on the top of the car from the city lights... Looks weird once its be resized... Looks amazing in RAW file.

Also you may want to change the olour of the text youhave used in the first post for us who are using the dark background option. Like me... :(

nice pics, the more i look at them, the more i wish i went with you, the 34 would look hot next to the bright yellow beast and city in background.

    • Ah, fair enough. For the IAT, I'm using a legit GM sensor that was used on the car prior to my current build. I'll get another wideband and IAT ordered and follow up when they show up. Thanks for the help.
    • You shouldn't need to massively fatten up the mixtures for cold conditions. For one thing - 0°C is not that cold. For another, the Haltech will be using the IAT sensor to tell it how dense the air air, and calculate the correct amount of fuelling. Then the cold start enrichment is added as a % on top of that, so it should scale with the main fuelling. You might also doubt the IAT sensor at this time. You're not using one from an RB26 are you? Using a nice Bosch sensor or similar? Happens. Some wideband units take great pleasure in killing their sensors. Put another wideband in the tailpipe and compare. Or just swap the sensor to a brand new one and see.
    • Oh, my misunderstand. When the car was running, it sounded ok, but if I gave it any gas it wanted to die but caught itself afterwards. It's very different from how it was a couple months ago when it was warmer outside. The logs show that the AFRs are better during, what I assume, is warmup enrichment. Because it's cold, and air is more dense, should I work on the enrichment bit?
    • yess of course im not using 2nd hand parts from my spare engine, but the place where i live is hard to find parts for the RB20DET ,but for the RB20E is everywhere including new ones and a lot cheaper ,because for the RB20DET you have to order it overseas to get one and it cost a lot of money 3x the price to be exact. so i ask this topic because if i can use the new ones but for RB20E is it compatible or not. if not im screwed haha, not totally screwed but i have to save a lot of money first before i can begin repairing my engine, thanks for the information before.
    • Unless my sensor just died, was only a couple months old, I strongly believe it didn't. How can I test it? I never mentioned it being 20:1+?
