Awesome photos Col :D

What a great night and was nice to see a sensible driving attitude while we were driving from DFO, through Milton and up to Mt Coot-tha. Certain actions re: people leaving Mt Coot-tha, especially with the police only a few hundred metres away up the hill, leave a lot to be desired :(

Thankyou to Mud for leading the group :)

Was great to meet some new skyline fans and to catch up with the old skyline fans :(

Even signed up our newest member...Welcome Tim to SAu Qld :D :D :D

Are you talking about me wanting you to go first and you wanting me to go first...

Cause i was always a believer that red cars go faster so i wanted you to go first so i didnt hold you up...

Plus the old saying ladies first comes to mind also...

hmm that picture of only the three cars up mt cootha, whats the go with the taillight almost at the top centre of the photo.... kinda wondering how they got there

Love that last shot... The ultra blue light from the parker on my car has like caused that light spread effect...

Looks sweet...

What brand parkers are on you car? They look cool.

Arhhh im glad someone noticed... Its caused by a smug on the very front cokin filter on my wide angle lens... Just I must have touched the lens after the other shots... Hense the blemish only being in the last 2 photos of the night...

I wish i had my L series lens with me ($1500), but its in getting repaired... Due to someone dropping it in fiji.

yeah i buy thouse white parkers, from autobarn, cept i find they dont last too long :D mud, i didnt mean that photo, i guessed they were a taillights, but on the first one posted, look right up top theres two skyline lights, which is weird sine nothing else in the pictures has blurred at all...

    • Actually, ethanol has probably never been cheaper, on a tax free basis, than petrol. With fuel excise being what it is, and only being levied on the hydocarbon component, not the ethanol component, and ethanol for non-drinking purposes not being subject to liquor excise - E85 was cheaper, but not because the combustible liquid itself was particularly cheaper.
    • Maybe? If changing the cat to a higher flowing cat, caused the turbo to spool more quickly, and those areas of the map had not been tuned for the boost level it is now seeing, then yes you would need a re-tune. How dangerous it is running without the updated tune would depend on how far out the tune is with the now higher boost levels, how the engine protection has been setup, is the ECU compensating with a wideband sensor, is the boost control closed loop blah blah million other things... But yeah having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if changing out the cat for a high flow, in say a full 3" exhaust, made no noticeable difference at all.
    • Ah yep. I asked a auto electrician about getting a cheap rebuilt alternator vs a new one. He also said he used to it back in the day but it ended up costing similar to what a new one would and recommended getting a new one,.
    • Ah, to clarify if the car has already been tuned and has been modified and you want to go from a oem cat to a 100 cell or decat or vice versa. Are you saying that the car doesn't need to be tuned after a cat change if it's already been tuned?
    • This has been covered a bazillion times but google wet boiling point vs dry. Motul is only good when it's fresh, once it absorbs moisture it gets pretty average very quickly. So as above, make sure you change it if you're going racing. I run the Endless brake fluid in mind, but only because a mate is a distributor and it's cheap. It's not quite as good as SRF but I'm running 380mm rotors on a Skyline so it's not like they get hot.
