hey guys another question

ive heard that wet(oil) air filters like k&n cause some problems with afm's, is it worth spending a lil extra for some dry filters like the apexi power intake ones???

and what type of damage would it do to the afm's?

ps is anyone running the apexi power intake? and whats your experiance with em

yeah I have heard some reports that the oil can gum up the AFM sensor... But I think there is more chance of this being caused by blow-by...

Just get a $30 simota or 3A Racing... It is all the same material and often the filters with the extra filter piece in the middle can give even more flow! They are supposed to be cleanable but for the $30, just throw it away and get another one!

If you really want an apexi, put a sticker on it...

Oil on the AFM wouldn't be caused by blowby because the AFM is upstream of the rocker cover return.

I'd rather have an oiled filter beause they should filter better. Better to clean the AFM once in a while than to let a whole lot of dust into a motor over a long period of time. Btw, I believe 90% of oiled AFMs are due to over oiling of the filters. You really only have to use a minute amount!!
