Woah, now I'm lost.

My point before was that the guy asked if you could still stock ECU features with microtech, then everyone arked up about how shit microtech was, even though it was so not the time.

Why you would get rid of a power fc for a microtech... i'm not so sure on that one....

anyway, i still think i came closest to answering the initial question of how to hook up a microtech so 4ws and shit still works.... lol

are you blind ? my post was the first post and it states that it can be hooked up with the stock computer and it can work.

i have a ltx12s on my 1jzgte, i have 1000cc injectors and i dont run a idle air control valve, my car idles at 11.2 11.3 AFRs cold or hot it goes one hit of the key.

my fuel consumption is what you would expect with 1000cc injectors, i have driven a 10.01 sec VL turbo calais with a autronic on it, my car is far nicer at idle at load and at back off, the autronic pops and farts, my microtech doesnt

every ecu is at good as its tuner.

go microtech and get jon or justin at rx engineering to tune it. i think my results speak for themselves.

I too have a ltx12s in my TT Zed. It only makes 268rwkw @ 15psi, so it's not to crazy.

Dosn't miss a beat, cold starts first up, dash display is informative and ezi to tune.

My mate has one in his Zed and it makes over 400rwkw @ 21psi and it does the job for him.

I have heard that they manage a vee config beter than a straight six, but this is only conjecture.

i have a power fc on the car right now , but have problems with it . the car drive great but when it idle it will go up 1000 rpm and drop 800 rpm, if the car rev the rpm drop off fast and the car cut out. cant find the problem,

We use Microtechs on the rotary race cars, wouldn't use anything else.

But NEVER on an RB26, multiple throttle bodies on a turbo charged engine are not their game.

Notice how all the favourable reports from Microtechs on piston engines talk about max power with single throtte bodies. No mention of piss poor closed loop running, wasted spark ignition, difficulty driving individual cylinder CDI, installation time and cost, idle speed control via AAC for electric load, power steering and airconditioning, inacurate base maps etc etc

They simply can not compete on a value for money basis with a $960 buy and $300 tune Power FC.

:( Cheers :(

i am using hks ssq blow off valve ,and how can i check them for leaks

Are they plumbed back or open to atmosphere?

:( cheers D:

PS, the standard GTR BOV's are far better than almost every aftermarket BOV you can buy.

they are open to atmosphere, when i first got the car it was working fine with the hks ssv and one day the car started to cut out

Open to atmosphere BOV's don't work very well with AFM's as the main load sensor. Achieving a consistent and stable return to idle takes lots of tuning, road tuning, you can't duplicate it very easily on the dyno. My recommendation (as always) is to use the standard plumb back BOVs on a GTR.

The problem is very simple, the open to atmosphere BOV's dump a whole lot of air, air that the AFM's have already measured as going into the engine. So the ECU squirts in enough fuel for that amount of air, too much fuel = rich running just as the engine is try to achieve a stable idle. Hence the stalling.

The easiest/cheapest answer is to keep that air within the system, not dump it outside.

Why you think it worked OK for a while and not now is beyond me. Maybe you are driving it more agressively than you were when you first got it. Snapping off the pedal after a wide open throttle, rather than rolling off progressively.

:( cheers :(

if you dont have a BOV at all and you come off the throttle the air still does come out the front of the turbo.. would it go back out the AFM backwards ?? if it does then will the engine compensate the fuel mixtures for this ?

Sots car has a completly different engine to yours and it a single cam rb30. your engine should feel better to drive or there would be something wrong.

Plug the standard computer in and then test compared to a microtech and you will know what we mean.

sorry effy, i dont agree with any of the comments made about microtechs. i have mates with them on rb 20's rb 25's and they are more than hapy with the fuel consumption and the driveability of them. my car drives just as nice with the mcirotech if not better than it did with the toyota ecu.

the new generation of microtechs are good things and are a lot cheaper than other ecus. i think way to many people base there opinon on old microtechs and bad tuners.

if i can cold start mine with 1000cc injectors at 8 deg for qld jambo first hit of the key thats proof in the pudding. people can rant all they want but i will not be taking my microtech out. infact i am about to sstart using the data logging feature of it as we have reached the limit of what my auto can hold on the dyno and track tuning is the only way we are going to be able to tune it. its a nice problem to have.

We are mainly talking about a RB26 with quad TB.

I have driven a car for 3 years with a Microtech and even had one running in my skyline for a couple of months.

They dont drive anywhere near as good as a standard computer on the street on cruise or anywhere near as good as a tuned Power FC.

Depends what you want from your car to what ecu you use. If i had my way I would have a Autronic.

I have a question for you.

Have you read this thread, and all the posts within it? Or just posting blindly without actually reading?

Like, seriously... we are talking of RB26 with 6 throttle bodies. Not single TB'ed motors

RB20 - single TB

RB25 - single TB

etc etc.

i have a gtr33 vspec and want to install a microtech ltx12. if install can my 4wd still work , because the 4wd systems has it own computer. and operate from the main computer.

that was the question asked, yes i read it. then i read 5 people flaming microtechs saying they are shit, those comments dont answer old mates question now do they? so your problem is what?

where in the original post does it say anything about 6 throttle bodies or single throttle body.

so really the answers for the last 2 pages should read "yes its possible" and there shouldnt be people people flaming microtechs.

Well RB26 has 6 throttle bodies...................................................

And further on in the thread you will see that the comment about the microtech is due to the car playing up, which is no fault of the PFC already in the car

i understand a rb26 has 6 throttle bodies, but that want part of the original post which you were having a shot at me about champ. :(

rx engineering are doing a gtr as we speak, so once i know the results from that we will soon now if its a tuning issue or a ecu issues with the 6 throttle bodies.
