Gasket Between Turbo And Dump Pipe

I'm about to replace the dump/front pipe with an aftermarket one on RB20DET,

does the gasket between the turbo and dump pipe need to be replaced?

Can it be re-used?

well if it is in good condition then sure re-use it ..

if its cracked at all. get a new one. and try to torque the bolts up as even as possible

Is it something that needs to be purchased direct from Nissan?

I was thinking about using a gasket type sealant on it as well

if its ok to re-use.

Apparently you can use a VL turbo to dump gasket as it is the same,

can anyone confirm this?

just go to nissan and get one. They are average priced, if i remember right it cost me about $20-$40 to get one

1st time i didnt replace it and didnt have any problems, second time i replace it just for the fun of it

mine was in ok condtion it wasnt falling apart but saying that my gasket to my dump->front pipe was really average and i reuses that without a problem

my exhaust gasket has failed so its being replaced but my mechanic has said to replace them all at the same time as it all has to come off anyway. all up the gaskets cost me 150 for manifold, dump, flange and oil+water washes

I ended up using the same one, it was in fairly good condition.

They are a steel gasket, fairly durable.

I think you're nuts if you don't replace them. You'll be pissed off if the gasket fails later on all because you wanted to save chump change

Yes, replace it. And gasket goo? Gets a bit hot up there for that stuff i think.
