well thats a different story. Should be far cheaper. $160 sounds a bit rough in that case.

Very prone to this sort of failure as apparently the studs are aluminium and prone to streching and snapping.

I had my car back from a engine replacement and it sounded like a tractor off a farm. lol

Is yours similar? and does not boost up properley?

They are mild steel, on r34 gtr's i believe they are stainless steel. the price that was quoted would probably include helicoiling a few holes from broken studs, not just pulling them out and screwing new ones in :(

there are always annoying broken ones, i had 4!!!

Imagine how weak they would be if they were aluminium. It's the constant heating and cooling that weakens them, age is the killer. Our R31 has about 4 or 5 missing but doesn't leak at all so I'll leave it as is.
