Hes done a few cars on here + more...(tunes + had motors built)

Hes an excellent tuner of the PFC, and knows whats safe as he doesnt try to squeeze for that last 10rwkw....

Does great $100 wot tunes...talk to him to discuss what u want.

300kw+

For that power output you will need a fuel pump upgrade, larger injectors, and possible some cam gears to give you some leeway on timing issues, and thats without making up for any defeceincies you motor may have as std.For all engine machining Rhemac Mtr's in gawler are the best around by far, K&A motor sports at greenfeild are the best for setting up brakes(upgades) and suspension, also try Manta racing at richmond for suspension( he's done my own car!)And as for tuning a pfc as darren said shaun at boots wkx, willal racing at dry creek (wingfeild) or tilbrook dyno are all good tuners........And as for not wanting to travel to far-----dont be a tight arse you travel to were ever to get the best job done! 300kw is easy achievable but it doesn;t come cheaply!!!

Hope this helps a little and good luck in your search---keep us informed in your travels....

no worries man, yer spose i will travel that bit extra to get the best but i dunno bout going to gawler bit far away, anyway yer i knew bout injectors fuel pump ect just didnt add em in. will deffinetly keep you guys posted bout the work in progress. anymore help would be greatly appreciated, cheers

SIBA33,

You will find if you start questioning some of the "so called engine builders" around town that most of their engine machining goes to Rhemac (and that incl the v8 brigade and a hell of a lot of race, speedway, and ski motors as well!) so you are better of going and speaking to Des at Rhemac and get shown around the workshop and look at the state of the art machines etc that they constantly up grade before you off load the $ to someone who will take a cut of the $ and only be the middle man with Rhemac or similiar being the contact you need to spk to.I'ts what i did before out laying app $25k for my complete enginge rebuild and ancillaries.

hey

i have just gone down this rd.

i can highly recomend John Moyle Engineering on 82696067

i supplied them with all the parts that i wanted installed and my bare block

and they cleaned, machined, balanced and assembled the short motor including a installing a Jun

wide crank collar onto the crank suit a N1 oil pump fo under $1300

im currently at 276kws with the standard head and cams, so give me a week or two to get some

cams and 300kws is a very easy target.

danger man 4 what specs do u have bud?? how much have u spent so far i was told 10k for the 300rwkw im after. i added up everythn and seemd to be right

engine internals

acl race forged pistons

eagle h beam rods

acl race bearings

arp main and head studs

Jun wide collar

full nissan gasket set

fully balanced

three angle valve grind

standard head and cams

nissan timing belt

bolt ons

stainless low mount manifold

gt3071r-sp

nismo 550 injectors

q45 AFM

Power FC

walbro pump

Sard rising rate fuel reg

custom dump

full 3 inch straight thru stainless exhaust

3 inch high flow stainless cat

iridium plugs

blitz bov

gizzmo ebc

MV automatics shift kit

i have spent a lot more then 10grand

oh and a 600x300x80 intercooler from ASE

if your looking for that sort of power i would suggest getting a HKS turbo, injectors, fuel pump and PFC d jetro that should get you very close to 300 rwkws without having to start spending to much money on engine internals...

mate of mine just put a HKS 25/35 on his R33 and made 245 rwkws with 14 degrees of timing and 14 Psi of boost and the only other mods he has is straight through 3 inch exhaust and pod filter.

This was all done by Tilbrook Auto.. they did a great job.

well..

some rb25 pistons take a beating some dont

my car only just clicked over 40,000 klm from new, i was pumping 13 psi into it with AFR of around 11

and one good rev - power slide around a corner and, that was it.

lost compression in no 6 from 155 down to 55.

stripped the motor and i actualy had 4 pistons with cracked ringlands

the rings were still intact on all 6 cylinders, and the car was still making good power, just ruff at idle

so you make up your own mind..

thrash it till it blows, or build it properly from the start and enjoy 20psi and 300 - 350 kws for years to come.

yer cheers, nah going the trust turbo, better power that keeps goin look at the 'power with a Td06' thread. yer im deffinetly doing internals not sure wether to do the head or the block first!! if im puting in pistons and rods what else should i get done to the block while its apart??

    • Great to hear you are bringing it out of the shed again. Unless you have specific issues I'd just add the wideband, get a good tune and enjoy it. Certainly no point changing coils etc if they are working. If would add fuel pressure and e85 sensor if you are doing a general update but not if it runs OK and you are just getting it back on track. The other thing is smaller, modern twins, -5 are OK for motorsport but pretty laggy and old tech for street use (of course, if performance is the priority a modern single with twin scroll manifold etc is the go but not cheap). The final thing worth considering is switching to an ethrottle if drivability is still an issue, it should make things a lot simpler and smoother
    • Yeah pretty sure they are m4, but best to check, and perhaps use new hardware Also don't over torque them......there was that one time I lost an expensive engine after a workshop overtorqued one of those bolts and it ended up in the oil pump (no, I don't know why they removed the intake mesh either)
    • I might have to shoot them an email. Pity the exchange rate is so bad at the moment. BTW, thanks for posting that table makes interesting reading.
    • Add these Sensors -Wideband, Oil Pressure, Fuel pressure, Intake air temp Good inspection of ignition system of coils, plugs and loom (12v feed and good ground)- a r35 kit is best bang for buck upgrade. A decent tuner should be able to see any issues with the trigger system- a link has good filtering but a good simple upgrade is the nz wiring bolt in kit. Check and replace all the fuel filters- you would be surprised at intank filter after a few years. Also good to check for any leaks on vac hoses and pipe work as has been said. No need to go overboard and spend big $$$ to enjoy the car. A quality tuner is getting harder to find as anyone with a laptop thinks they are a tuner. A link has great features to check sensor voltages and frequency inputs and easy to see live by pressing f12. The link can do a TPS & RPM fuel/ignition mapping on ITB cars then add a 4D table with MAP and ability to add a 5D to it (can help with economy at cruise with wheel speed vs TPS) Where are you located as that will help narrow down a good tuner ?
    • Reviving an old thread, I reckon my stagea is starting to slip. Car usually gets parked on a hill, narrow driveway so cant go up the driveway smoothly, anyhows, lately first gear feels "sluggish"? Not responsive. Feels like I gotta run the engine more than usual to get off the line...  Any recommendations for transmission servicing in Sydney? Or possibly just an excuse to go manual ?
