R33 S1 Turbo Upgrade

My friend has a R33 Series one skyline and is looking to upgrade to a T28 turbo.

-Is it hard to upgrade?

-What is an approx power gain?

-Will this require any more additional mods such as ECU, injectors etc, because he just wants to upgrade to a bigger turbo and push out about 300RWHP or more but not have to change the ecu etc...

Stock turbo will do 200rwkw just about.

I say, how much does he want to spend?

Best mods power wise and cop wise on a stock car are roughly in this order: aftermarket ecu, exhaust, fuel pump, intercooler, turbo, clutch (moving up on your price range.)

Look into:

EMS Stinger 4420 or 8860

R33/R34 front mount intercooler kit

Skyline R33 BOV Adapter Kit

3-4 grand will get you a really nice set-up.

a t28 will be a downgrade

they come standard on the likes of the s14/s15's. think 2.0 4 cylinder vs 2.5 6 cylinder and compare them side by side and the rb25 turbo is quite a bit bigger

Yeah I agree why would he want to get a smaller turbo? Skyline turbos are a hybrid T3 style made by Hitachi I think.

So tell me how a BOV is a performance upgrade?

Biggest waste of $100 i've seen short of getting drunk and throwing up in a nightclub

Also for the EMS band-aid... a PFC will do a better job everytime for the same

as the two are very different

T28 = smaller twins found on Skyline GTR

GT28 = larger single

read better before you start laughing.

for that power .. 2530 turbo would be the best choice, along with power FC, and if wanna keep costs low install new fuel pump and an FPR to push the injectors a little more .. or just do it right and get bigger injectors
