i have just received the parst for the os giken Rb30 kit bit still waiting on my stage 6 race head by AEBS california, but is it advisable to run a big twin in parralel (veilside GT 3542) or a single big T88-38gk trust turbo on this, i run a motec M 800 pro ECU with complete logging sensor array with EGT (x2), IAT (x2), Knock (x2), MAP (x2), wide band O2 (x2), launch, traction and air shifter control

The head that i am currently waiting for has extensive cooling mods that will enable me to tune up to abou 450 BHP/l. but i am currently aiming for 900-950 HP and a big shot nitorus to help me to 1100HP.. here are some of my new goodies that i plan on setting up, as there is a nissan pulsar that keeps on ginving me shivers down my spine:

MoTeC M800 ECU and complete logging sensor array with EGT (x2), IAT (x2), Knock (x2), MAP (x2), wide band O2 (x2), launch, traction and air shifter control

MoTeC Advanced Dash/Logger system

MoTeC CDI/8 channel ignition spark amplifier

MoTeC uprated high intensity ferrite coil packs (x6)

MoTeC complete sensor array and logging of over 50 parameters (shock travel, G's, all fluid temps and pressures in engine, gearbox, diffs, etc)

RB 30 engine by OS GIKEN

Modified to the fullest race head with custom intake and exhaust manifolds by AEBS

OS GIKEN 6spd sequential gearbox

OS GIKEN quad plate clutch

2* bosch fuel pumps

AEBS highflow fuel rail

NX direct port 200HP nitrous shot

hollinger custom drive shafts

Yokohama slicks

custom 1250cc injectors

Greddy racing BOV (recirculated) with 3 bar spring

APEX i radiator

AEBS Stage 6 head

tomei pro cam 280 IN @ 11.5mm lift

tomei pro cam 290 EX @ 11.5mm lift

titanium retainers

custom valvesprings for higher lift

mainly gen oversize valves

5 angle vavle hob

extensive porting and polishing

ARP bolts

Ill keep you guys informed if i have pondered over the turbo question with my tuner, but if you guys would help me out it would be great.

i have cloked with my GReddy hellcal gears at about 900-950 hp about 9.76, but in the last race my head stud bolts blew and the head acually put a dent in my hood, is was a complete failure, i am still trying to beat a nissan pulsar, that car is just develish, running about 900 HP on his car the carr clocks about 9.5 on a HKS kansai gear set with no syncros. raced im 3 times, still no luck, but for once and for all i want to be the top racer and im going big this time, so please advise on the turbo question

Pics of build or Ban :)

With a 3 Litre bottom end, a big single is okay, but with two twins and a 3 litre bottom end, this could be a monster.

A 3 litre Supra over here is making an easy 575 rwkw on twin TD05, so if you are looking for outright power, two turbos are better than one!

If it was to be twins I suppose a pair of GT3567R's (technically should be called GT3584R's) from Full Race Motorsports could generate enough airflow for 1200+ Hp with large enough GT35 turbine housings . Geoff Raicer makes good stainless manifolds that don't fail on the Honda and Supra drag specials so I would talk to him .

Cheers A .

School Holidays huh?

I was pondering that too, but in the past have been left with a bit of a blush after assuming that a thread was by a dreaming school kid - fortunately I hadn't said too much, as the guy turned out to be very much legit.

Something I find very interesting, is the NZ vs. Oz culture in going for turbo setups - in NZ, huge single turbos seem to be the preferred path whereas it seems you guys like twins.

Seeing as the OSGiken kits seem to make something which is very similar to a 2JZGTE, T04R.Com may have some useful information. Here is a table they have put together as a rule of thumb for power output potential and boost thresholds for different turbo setups on 2JZGTEs:

Mmmm GT47

if you are serious then i would suggest you talk to veilside or HKS japan. get a big set of HKS 3540s. and enjoy over 1000hp.

why do you need a motec air shifter control with an OS sequential 6 speed though?

for outright power id also be inclined to go for one turbo as opposed to 2

when you look at some of the faster gtr's they all seem to be running single turbos. 2 that come to mind are reece mcgregors 7 second monster and the gms mag n turbo gtr thats running low 8's also on a single

when you consider they only run one wastegate, one exhaust etc it would be cheaper in the long run and looking at the times those cars produce, faster also

that is quick but both HKS and veilside have runs 7s now with twins. i think for drag with big budget big twins are the way to go. and most of the 8 sec jap cars are on twins too. plus it's a GTR. it was meant for twins, it's part of what makes it a "GTR".

Ummm, when did Veilside do a 7??? And there are rumours HKS used a fairly sizeable NOS shot to help along their 7.67.... also, GTRs never were turbo at all until about 1989 :D

I think Heat Treatments will be matching or bettering the 7.67 HKS apparently ran, probably worth noting they've already gone quicker than HKS could manage in Oz - with a dirty great big single and no NOS :D

with that sort of monstor setup maybe a T51r SPL they have the ability to make 800+hp.. if not i'd go something along the lines of twin t04z's or the vielside GT35/40's which is wat GTR700 runs from memory and well there running mid 8's?

but than again.. i'd love to see some pictures of this car.. otherwise we have very talented school kid? so im on thizzles side for now

also i'd like to see this pulsar.. aswell

I saw Munro's new single setup late last year and the only way to describe it would be montereous!!!! It will be tops to see it run when it's completed.

On the twins and singles i seen in the new HPI that John Munro is ruuning a big single on his new set with methanol.

Dam lucky S.A will most likey be the frist in australia to get to see side by side 8 second pass's by GTRs

Pete, which Supra are you talking about? Nige's Supra runs a twin TD06-20g setup, not TD05s.

well i cant give you a date, but i got that info from the owner of veilside himself, Yokomaku Hiranao. whilst i was standing next to his 32 GTR drag car i asked "what's the qucikest time now" and he replied 7.6X he said very close to HKS. he is running slicks now. his best time on street tyres was approx 1 sec slower than that = mid 8s. (8.6 according to veilside) unless of course he was bullshitting but i highly doubt that he would.

Wow... thats pretty big news if its true!! There are a lot of places around the place which claim that the top 3 GTRs are HKS, Heat Treatments, and Advance...

I wouldn't be surprised if they could knock off some huge time with slicks, the thing has insane power and not so much traction from vids I've seen.

maybe have a chat to CRD they built up RH9 which last i checked i am pretty sure it had twin highmount HKS 3540's was very nice :worship:

Checked it out on Saturday, it made 380awkw on 14psi easily on its initial tune....which BTW is more than GTR700 made....this thing will be an animal.

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
