Fairly new to all this but anyway......just installed a intercooler kit over the past day or two...took it for a test run, fine at first then accelerated and the boost spiked from 7 to 15psi and then stuttered bad. I read the post in the forum about stuttering but wondered why the car would boost like crazy from just putting a larger cooler on it. There is one tube however I haven't fixed, it used to go into the large pipe that went back into the throttle body, what is this for as I put a bolt in it for now?!?!?! Only thing I could think of....does this tell the computer about boost pressure or something? Do I need to buy a boost controller?

when you installed your intercooler, did the pipe have a nipple that goes to the stock solenoid?

Maybe the after market piping didn't have it.. and your missing that hose.. hence the spiking

Hi, yeah I just checked and it does goes back to where the ...I think actuator is...(solenoid I guess), the factory piping had the nipple but the supplied piping didn't....so I guess I will have to get something to plumb it back in. (Car is a R33 sorry).

The new piping etc has some cool 'cooler' noise though!!! :)

that hose is the vacuum line to the boost solenoid.

you will need to have it connected to the intercooler pipe.

I "think" it also works if you connect it to a vacuum line off the plenum.

Thanks everyone, I got a friend to put in a piece like the original and fitted the tube back to it and everything works great now. The psi has increased a little bit over normal but it is all perfect!! :)
