Polished Vs Chrome Finish

Im thinking about polishing or chroming my engine bay. What in your opinion is better and why? What finish do you guys think looks better?

polished for sure.. also if any hair line cracks appear you will know, chrome you may not as it is a layer on top of the alloy

That and it (polished) looks real. Not fake or tacky (chrome).

competition coating makes a finish that looks good..

prob between polished and chrome, and that protects up to 650degrees

I'm with polishing... only because I get it done for free at my workshop

Just finished dressing up my engine bay, so shiny you could do your hair at night time just by lifting the bonnet!

Any crack which is big enough to cause a leak will still be visible.

Polished items require constant maintenance

If you want it to look pretty 24/7, go with the plating or HPC

Yes that is correct... with polishing any flaws in the metal will show right through (hairline cracks, sometimes even litte craters).

Maintenance isn't that bad, clean rag and some metho once or twice a month will keep it shiny
