ok i've been told to chop off the tube vaccum from the engin that goes to the black box that converts to digital data and sends info through elextrical wire to the dahs or the stock boost gauge and then with the thinner hose that autometer supply stick that into the tube (even though its way thinner and then seal the thicker hose around the thinnner one with a cable tie of some sort, is this the way to do it ? i though if i go from a thick tube to the thin one the reading will change ?

i did mine the other week...

theres a tube from the plenum to the stock bov (which i dont use) so i tapped into that...but u gotta make sure u block it from other tubes and u should get a proper reading...i do...

il take a pic tomoz or sumthin if u want

if you can take a photo that'll be great

****ing just spent 30mins tracing the wire for my alarm siren, the dud ewho did it drilled a hole to just behind the driver side wheel and then up into the engine bay somehow and i got through the first hole but couldnt get any further, grrrr covered in grease for nothing LOL oh well looks like ill drill my own hole in the firewall

man ur doing it the hard way... i am assuming that its similar to the RB20 on an R32

im actually in the middle of making up a proper install guide for ppl to put on my site... for now i'll give u a quickin.

this is a plug leading thru the firewall to where ur right foot is... just above the accel pedal.

EDIT**

webspace issues... couldnt upload the pics...

i quickly made this for u in exel... i dont know if it will help with the R33 but for a reference... (ps it took me 2 hours lol as i knew nothing about what i was doing and ended up actually removing the dash cause i thought u could just plug it from a hose leading into the original cluster guage lol)

:P wont let me attach a exel sheet and i dont have winzip... only winrar

try downloading this

the r33 and r32 engines bays are slightly different, in the r33 u can pass the tubes for the boost gauge through near where the ecu is, its the only entry point through the firewall. Theres a rubber grommet there, either remove it or cut a hole for the tube to pass through.

Just tap the vacuum line that the stock gauge gets the signal from with a T piece and plug the line for the autometer gauge to that. Its near the top left of the engine bay off the top left of the intake plenum.

ended up drilling the bracket holding the guage into the pillar (too difficult mounting on dash coz of angle) but looks great, battery went dead so gotta wait till morning to fire her up witha jump start, ended up running tubefrom ehind the indicator on the driver side and up into the engine bay ;)
