Hey guys

Recently put on my hiflow r33 turbo

i have

power fc

AVCR

FMIC

Hiflow cat

3" exhaust

12 psi

Hiflow turbo ( plain bearing, 270thrust bearing)

I havent had the car tuned after install of hiflow, wasnt sure if i need to or not

I did have 205 tyres on at the time of the test and tune, but when i went down, it felt like each gear was maxing out. I was nearly in 5th gear at the end of the strip.

i changed the boost back to 10 i think it was fine, felt a bit slow, but it went right to 6000rpm, whateva my shift light was set at.

Will the power fc need to be tuned, for the hiflow? Letting more air in? need more fuel?

AFM maxing out?

I did a 14.2 was the best at 100.31mph 60ft 2.2269, Reaction was .552

With the help of little bit of wheel spin

Not sure whats doin

Any help is appreciated

I'm sorry I read this 3 times but I don't understand the problem.

when you say each gear was maxing out at 12psi, are you saying that you were going really fast?

or was it cutting out?

either way, if you now have a turbo that can ram more air in to your engine, OFCOURSE the ECu should be tuned to accomodate the right fuel and timing to go with it.

you don't mention any injectors or Fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump in your list of mods so I would suggest at least get a fuel pump and the regulator to make use of the new turbo.

I'm just not sure what it is you are trying to ask...

it feels like its cutting out,

i dont have a fuel regulator or fuel pump at the moment

but i have a walbro fuel pump that i will be putting on soon, maybe this weekend.

Everything is the same as when i had the stock turbo on, havent changed nothing.

So yeah looks like im goin to get it tuned, hopefully soonish

was the PFC tuned with the stock turbo?

at what boost?

what power did it make?

If I had to guess, I'd say maybe your AFM.

more air is comming in and the AFM is out of resolution and the engine is misfiring/cutting out as it is not tuned for that level of AIR FLOW.

but answer the questions above please..

cheers

pfc was tuned with the stock turbo at chiptorque

Made 201rwkw

at 12 psi

And pretty much just have put the hiflow on, and havent changed anything.

I have heard from matty spry, that will having a hiflow, i should be right with using the standard afm, as im not goin to be goin bigger turbo later on or cams etc. And that he can tune it too it , hopefully .

well think about it quickly.

stock turbo at 12psi was able to push enough air in to the engine to make 200rwkw.

the turbo now has been hi flowed.

basicaly as the name suggests it flows higher amounts of air.

so if the boost controller has not been touched, 12 psi on the new turbo actually flows MORE air.

and this has caused your cutout/missfire issue.

it will have to be tuned to supply right amount of fuel to go with the new amount of air.

I'd definitely chuck in the pump you have.

now.. I don't have an RB25 so I don't know first hand, the limit of the RB25 afm.

I'm sure others will.

Actually, if you take a quick look at the RB25 turbo/dyno thread ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=55845)

you can see what power people have and what mods.

if you can find what power people have before a Z32 AFM is required, you'll work out if you can use the new turbo to it's max potential with the RB25 AFM or not.

other than this, I'm pretty sure that without a FPR, your injectors are going to be maxing out soon.

oh.. get some fatter tyres and better that time man.. :D
