Gohan - I got Kaixen from BATMBL. Good kit - shouldn't have any problems assuming the projectors have been converted to halogens well and you match the bulb.

Adzmax - Xenons use less current once going than a normal bulb so you should be ok. Question is did you use the right bulb type? The thing should sit at the correct focus point so it's being reflected onto the road properly.

My battery is totaly farked, if I leave the car to sit for a week or so I trouble starting it. Possibly not enough current for the lights but I'd be surprised seeing they use a step up transformer/ballast.

Or you may have differnt bulbs, never know huh.

I find them bright but what I mean is the throw of the light is pretty poor.

Are you sure you have xenons? Are you sure they havent been converted? If they are original 34 xenons you should have excelent light. I have stock 35 watt globes in mine .

The condition of the battery wouldnt make any difference when the engine is going as long as your alt is working .

yep, I have a kaixen kit. As far as i'm concerned, after market kits are all the same shit.

I haev pictures of a stock 34 xenon light on a wall. Cutoff is clean. Light spread is good with no bright focus points.

I also have a pic of the aftermarket kit installed into the 34 'converted' housing. Looks like shit.

I believe that the problem is that, you know when they convert it to h1, how they change that little bulb holder bit? When coupled with an a/m kit, it must move the focal point ever so slightly. Afterall, when talking optics, even 2-3mm is the difference between good and bad.

For you, oem is easy. I've seen oem 34 xenons go for <1000. There was a set that went for 600 about 6 months ago. I used to be permanetly browsing the for sale section for good stuff.

For my r33, it's harder. sIII gtr lights are rare , so have to bought new from nissan, and don't really fit either.

I am purchasing an R34 which im pretty sure doesn't have xenon's (its coming from japan, and i havent seen it yet). But a friend of mine has one that he is selling, and it has xenons.

So, I have put it to him that when I get my car, we can do a straight swap and ill hook him up some cash for the difference.

Is it hard to swap the entire light assembly from a standard 34 to a 34 xenon setup? The xenon's have a little 1,2,3 switch inside the car to adjust the vertical level of the headlight beam. Is this in the standard 34's as well?

Cheers,

Dave

If you are purchasing a 34 GTT it should have xenons but they have to convert them to hals for compliancing.

The xenon lights look different to hals , if you have a good pic of the car showing the lights i can tell you if they are xenon or halogen .

Its not hard to swap, only xenons have the switch but you dont need it .

Not sure on the gist here but in that pic the lights are definitely halogens.

Here's a couple of pics of some xenons I'm selling atm. The easy way to tell is the parkers. Check these ones out then look back at that pic that was posted above. They are quite different. Also the xenon parkers are quite yellow whereas the halogen ones are whiter like the headlights themselves when they are on.

It is a non turbo, but so is my mates... I'm pretty sure they are standard halogen's, but heres a pic anyways.

Cheers,

Dave.

Those are halogens which is strange as I thought the GT-V would have had Xenons from the factory since it's basically GT-T spec minus a turbo.

Are you sure it's a GT-V?

Good point, plenty of power once the car is running. I'm 100% they are Xenon as I've had them in and out a couple of times since I've had the car. I swapped them for halogens during compliance then put them back in. I might need some brighter globes but the cost is a bit of a turn off.

I have the factory xenons in my GTR and the light is pretty amazing in my opinion. If you're light is poor then there is probably something wrong with yours.
