Riiiight...... So what was there lame arse excuss for not wanting to pursue it????? What was it the Mafia or some Crime son of rajab that did it or something????

Serioulsy someone carjacked you???? Like what you see in the movies???

yeah my last R33, i wont go fully into it, cause it would be off topic, but simply, bashed, hand over keys, hospital, high speed chase, write off car, and now nothing will be done, it sh*ts me cause i had a full no claim of 60% too, now down to 0% my insurance has skyrocketed, they say they dont have enough evidence, and yet they have fingerprints and DNA (from blood) and they HAVE matched to it someone, but they need more evidence, GEEZ what more can ya have, its seems like they want them to admit to it......

sorry for the off topic... :P

Well the topic was heading this way anyhow. I remember that little or rather large incident. u could always ask the cops if u can have his address. :P

The law is too clear cut so common sense doesnt really come into it. If a cop has doubts whack on a yellow. "yellow em all and let ADR sort em out" thats what they are paid to do. I they see u speeding, drving recklessly but cant prove it: yellow. Yellow is just a good all round piss off. They generally dont yellow the old clunckers becasue they know that that is obviously all that the driver can afford and there is generally somethign wrong with most pre 85 cars. We all drive expensive cars and can afford to fix problems etc etc so basically we can afford it.

May sound like a double standard but if ure student in a $800 car and a cop lets u off a yellow he has basically granted u permission to keep ure car. If ure in a 16-20k car u can obviously afford to fix whatever if anything is wrong with it and shouldnt be in the first place because that kinda stuff is usually intentional.

Boostzor:

agree with most of what you said but alot of the time they are not "yellowing" cars for things that are "wrong" with it, they just do it for stupid stuff, like air filters, steering wheels, etc etc. i dont know if this is what your meaning by something wrong with it, if you are forget my post, hehehe :P

"Somethign wrong with it" some ricer thinking he can get away with gutting the cat, cutting his springs, removing muffler, putting in dumass blue bulbs that dont give out f all light etc etc. A cops not gonna go crawling around under ure car on the side of the road, all he has to have is suspicions and he can slap on a yellow sticka, thats what they are for. Well unofficially.

what - and you know every single part of a computer and what it does and what to do straight off the top of your head when an obscure error message comes up??

youre comparing the wrong things again. learning the types of cars is not a hard thing to do, and they need to lean them in order to do their job properly

hahaha i just read this little line of threads and i know exactl where you guys are comming from the other we me and my mates where cruzing round in our cars and the cops pulled my mate over for "suspected drag racing" they then yellowed his car there and then for dirty head lights down the pits next day (nothing done to headlights) passed straight away ... hmm

another friend who drives a old v8 holden with rust all through it

oil leaks etc cops pulled him over looked and said "hmmm mate u might want to get that fixed some time" and that was it .... now really you tell me whats fair

Yes.

So they have to know every vehicle on the road, plus all the laws in state and federal?? Nice one

Someone mentioned why dont cops go after the old bombs and yellow all of them. I'd like to ask them to look around next time there driving, cops have been doing so. Compared to say 5 years ago theres **** all old bombs out there now days, you rarely see a car blowing a shitload of smoke anymore, or sitting in the carpark trying to start for 5 minutes and then getting 3 people over to push start it. There are very few old bombs out there now days, hell mines one of a die'ing breed.

But mine also passed the pits first time when i registered it :P

I once asked a cop if they can yellow a car for no reason. He said they CAN! He also told me that Subaru WRX can be yellowed from factory. This cop also explained that a yellow means they are not an expert and would like the car proffesionally inspected. You would have to tick the cop of to do that though I think!

The cop was obviously a DICK HEAD to say that a WRX can be Yellowed from the factory. All new cars sold must comply to ADR and obviously if its a factory car it will comply to this. Only when cars are modified do they warrant a Yellow if no permits are obtained.

If I had that cop tell me that right now i'd blast his ass, take down his badge number and create the biggest stink around. Id do this on principle alone.

Cops think they know it all.... just like how they know how to tune carbies on R32 GTRs.....

    • looking forward to your t56 swap man its a game changer if it works!
    • So, when are you trying the new GR86 or BRZ?
    • Uncle Duncan Yeap, FI Interchiller  Works well, normal IAT's cruising with the WTA only went from 50°c+ to 25-30°c with the interchiller  Before, when on it hard, the IAT would see 80-90°c, now, the highest has been was around 38°c IIRC IAT is measured under the blower hat I recommend it for the street or strip where your only on it hard for 10 or so seconds, but it wouldn't be efficient for sustained track use as it would heat soak from the AC turning off or whatever it does during WOT to protect the compressor It really needs the AC running for it to not heat soak and keep the WTA coolant chilled My WTA coolant temps when just cruising is around 2°c
    • Hey Mark...sorry to interrupt your career change to hair dressing... but...did you ever fit the interchiller to the commodore, and if so how was it? And, who made it?
    • I've been pondering this, I really enjoy the convertible thing, for me, it's like riding a motorbike, without all the issue of riding a motorbike, mainly, my old sore arthritic joints getting beaten up, and, being able to do it in shorts and a T-shirt and not needing a helmet and all the other gear required, especially like wearing jackets and pants in the summer, or needing 6 layers of cloths in the winter, or not having wet weather gear handy when your 100km away from home on the bike when it decides to start raining As for the hard top and its Coupe look, whilst I do lose all that open top feeling that I really enjoy, from my experience with the NB with a detachable hard top, the cabin is a much nicer place to be, the difference in noise for one, a hard top quietens down the interior, alot, with the soft top up or down it's pretty noisy, which, after 5 or so hours, can get tiring But, as you stated, the detachable hard top totally changes the look of the car, in a really good way, and for me, the look of a detachable hard top is so much better than the PRHT which looks more like a after thought with its weird bulbous rear roof line For me, the minimal effort of putting in on, or storing it after removing it, is well worth the time and effort for the look alone And yes, I'm sure the next owner will be grateful for it as well.......
