They don't for long though......Nissan 3rd gear + high rpm quick shift = BANG

There are not too many 10 sec cars running stock boxes....Not in Australia anyway. Theo broke 13 boxes to get his 10.78.

they're just a few off the top of my head on SAU that have run 10's on standard gearbox, I didn't mean it would be a good idea to do it over a long period of time but if they don't plan on being andra teched for 10's, a one hit wonder with stock gb isn't to bad budget wise

Sorry, i meant the vband style clamp on the exhaust housing to the centre core.

Well, me personally.? I dont think the dyno justifiys anyone from buying anything BUT a T04Z now days.

Good luck

Well we have seen a few good T04Z setups of late, will be interesting to see the baby T88 and how it goes...as the forum hasnt seen one done properly yet.

I was under the impression there is a few build ups that have been completed on this forum (using the T04Z?)

But anyhow, this would have that big rush of power as it comes on later and harder

Freak as in all or nothing?

Nice to drive around the streets as in off boost or do you always drive around the streets above 6000rpm?

The plenum looks like it makes it more laggy as the lack of midrange is bordering on a joke? BRING BACK THE JUN PLENUM

All up very nice for drags shame you wont run it as plenty of GTR's run 10's with stock gearbox

WOW, thats seems like a fairly aggresive post. Why? are you actually interested or just trying to put me down? I'll assume your just a passionate GTR owner with a genuine interest (some pics and specs of your car would be nice) and try to respond to your "queries"

Yes, nice to drive on the street. Sure its more laggy than the GTSS's but the extra power MORE than makes up for it. The thing scares me now, and thats the way I like it.

Comments from the guys at Croydon were that this was one of the best responding T88 setups they have had on the dyno (2.6l) Obviously the Hypertune manifold is working very well, as the response is very good for the size of turbo, and the power at this boost level is also very good. BRING BACK THE JUN PLENUM? Why? the hypertune one is cheaper, FLOWS MORE and I very much doubt has any measurable difference in lag. Whats more, it is Australian made, lighter and the runners are fully machined from billet (it should be more expensive!). I have had both (obviously) and am more than happy with my choice.

Nice for drags... Thank you :D I will run it but I am planning to get a stronger box and would rather wait. Plenty of GTR's have also broken boxes running 10's you know..... I figure that every broken stock box is another step away from buying something decent. I can't wait to race it again though, and might take it out anyway but try to go easy on it.

Hi all , I'm curious to know if anyone has thought of using the later type Garrett GT4088R or Precision Turbos GT4067R which is same but with the TO4Z's TO4R 67 compressor and housing . The turbines used in these GT40BBG's are 78 compressor trim so a little less laggy than the bush bearing versions 84T turbine . A fellow I speak to from Full Race Motorsports in the US is getting 850 odd Hp from a drag Honda so must work ok . The exhaust housings come in .85 .95 1.06 and I think 1.16 .

Cheers A .

could you share a bit of light on the setup of your own car as i don't see you contributing much to this forum.

I try to put up as much info as possible on the combinations used on the car, where as you try to say that since the car is not registerd in my name that i don't have say as to how the car runs or what works tith the car.

My father is standing besides me as I type and is questioning the relevence of who owns the car.

If you were a fan of the GT-SS set up i'm sure you will be impressed once we have finished with this new round of mods.

hey 600hp nice results mate, lookin good and dont worry about all the critics, if u go gt-ss's they say too small and then t88 too big, so whatever u do someone will wanna have a go at your setup. most of em just wish they had as much power as your engine.

good luck with it :)

Sounds like an absolute weapon!! Allot of money spent there.

Is the car everything that you wanted it to be! because thats all that matters.

When you get sick of the dyno/drag setup run a to4z or the like, and take it to the circuit!

Im drueling allready.

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
