If I saw characters like kabab and carlo even walking down the street I'd be on to the cops too!!! :uh-huh:

I've got the Region 1 version of Donnie Darko on DVD - and the soundtrack/poster :P Its a ****ing brilliant film and i've seen it about 6 times now. I've had the dvd for about 4-6 months now I think.

Amelie is excellent aswell - though its a lot different to the director's other films.

(I work for a cinema :()

Guys, it's a pretty well documented fact that Brant alarms are very susceptible to EMF and radio interference.

If you're in an area with a lot of interference, you won't be able to arm your car, or worse.... DISARM your car when you get back.

I've had this happen a few times... Stood in front of the car like an idiot for 15 mins pressing the button, hoping to catch a break in the surrounding interference so I can disarm my car. :P

Here's an idea for you guys, if you feel like experimenting.

Park your car in St. Leonards. THEN see if you can unlock it. My theory is if it's bad in Chatswood (presuming it's RF interference), then it'll be shocking in St. Leonards! ;)

Good to hear that you had a somewhat faith-restoring (or perhaps doubt-alleviating) Police encounter Carlo.

I have the same problems with interference with wireless equipment in the chatswood area..... one day I decided to look up before I get in the car. Staring back at me is the big TV broadcasting tower for channel 9!!!!

Man!! That tower could keep you toasty warm if you could stand in front of the dishes butt naked!

Thats my theory anyways

Try this:

Press the remote against your chin while pressing the button. It is known fact that human body can act as some kind of an aerial. Doing so will help your remote as it is "using" your whole body as a transmitter.

You will notice the range will increase as well.

Actually the person who told me that is a professional alarm installer. I had the same prob parking @ local train station where a hi power line runs above the car park. Alarm won't arm/disarm. Pressing the remote against your chin helps to increase the signal from the remote and it might help to defeat the EF interference.

I tried, it worked, and nobody around you will notice you doing that... unless your remote is as big as a house brick and you're doing it for 1/2 hour jumping up n down n shouting madly.

rs73 : I heard that you actually have to touch the remote to your tounge, kinda like when you test a 9v battery (everyone's done it before :D ) to get the full effectiveness :(

/me waits for the epidemic of people who "accidently" swallowed their remotes ...

what, after the remote gather all micro lints from your pocket or your bag? c'mon there should be a line between reality and pursue of "transmiter effectiveness"

nah.. you do hold it to your neck with your mouth open, it uses your throat to amplify/direct the transmission i guess, though you would probably also end up with throat cancer.. :P

but it does work!
