i just finished installing my stereo with a friend and during the install some wires touched together or touched the body which blew a fuse, changed the fuse and all seemed well and good, put everything back together then noticed when i drove out i didnt have dash lights so i went hunting for fuses,

in car fuses: the third fuse from the top on the left has no current running through it

changed the tail light fuse under the bonnet with the only fuse i thought i had (15 instead of 10), turn on lights and it blew... found a 10 amp and put it in then i noticed smoke coming from behind my dash then quickly took the fuse out, car didnt start so had to push start it now it seems to run ok but no idea what to do now... still got no dash or tail lights

check that your dash light switch is turned on. if you had the dash out then there is usually a switch thats plugged in somewhere. you can short it out full time or plug the switch back in properly and turn it on ! =)
