Tyre Pressuses For Street Tyres

Just wondering if anyone had any recomendations as to what sort of tyre pressures to run for regular street tyres on the strip?

I'll have 255/40/R17 BFGoodridge on the back of my R33 gts-t.

should I do a big burnout to warm the tyres as much as I can? or keep it minimal an see how it goes?

My recommendation woudl be to stick with the manufacturer's specs for a 17" low profile tyre. There's no sidewall there to play with. Regarding burnout, just a quick hit to clean off debris and water .. less than 2 seconds.

i've tested mine, lower profile than yours, and know there is a beneficial difference at lower tyre pressures. 20 or thereabouts works for me.

yeah at the heathcote SAU drag day I tried on standard 32psi....useless.

droped em down to 20psi and it was heaps better. still got heaps of wheelspin. but better...
