Guys...

the front end of my car has knackered itself.

It's in Flemington at the moment and the guy reckons it's really bad and he has to freight the parts to Sydney to the companies other workshop and then... the 'might' be able to fix it but won't know till it get's up there.

Can anyone recommend a place (western side prefered)... or is there someone here that knows what they are doing to help me out?

He said the earliest would be end of next week for my car and he'll charge me while the car is sitting on his hoist :(

So if someone can help it would be much appreciated!

it will be worth a few slabs at the least.

Now that is rough! I'd already be taking it somewhere else. Get it towed - like megs said its not too expensive. I had to do it once I think it was like $60 for 15km or something.

Suspension or steering problem ?

do you know what has given up? like which part(s)?

Something to do with the sleeve inside the strut leg has gone... and the shocker bolts into the bottom of it. Hence the terrible noise it gives out

make sense? NFI !!

Basically the didn't come standard like that he reckons and that it was done to turn it into a coilover ?!?

Does that help anyone?

yep...what I *think* has happened...

they have used a threaded sleeve onto stock strut...some people

hold up the sleeve by welding it onto the strut, while others will cut a groove around the strut and put some kinda clip to hold up the sleeve, sounds like your bolt has allowed the sleeve to slide all the way down???

Just a guess....

hhmmm... my car doesn't have one of those 'packages'...

being 15 years old and what have you nobody knows....

so i'm just gonna get GT to send them to sydney and hope like crazy the can repair what i have... if not... should be interesting what happens!

so i'm getting the bushes done also, no point not while it's in pieces
