Is a good rule to follow, a slight variation of that that I use, (Especially when cropping) is that my subject should be very visible and take up at least 2/3 of the image in both horizontal and vertical. (This make for a nice full frame, but not one that is to tight)

Some of your Open Shutter shots are really good, I love the first one with the reflection on the dock.

What is an "open shutter" shot?

for any photo the shutter has to be open :ermm:
