Greetings from the VERY rainy Gold Coast! We have 2 cyclones near here to contend with atm .... not happy Jan! Went to Sea World today and got rained on all bloody day ..... oh well was fun anyhow. Had a blast and absolutely beautiful weather Sunday for O'Reilly's Plateau tour (boardwalk in the top of rainforest trees), also for Monday at Dreamworld and Tues at Movieworld ..... so I can't really complain!

Back to the topic .... me the leader? .... bwahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha .... sorry just picking myself up off the floor :P ... anyways .... Brad - you know you can always have a passenger seat with me :(

So the ideas ..... yeah I'm up for any of the above suggestions. I especially agrre with John that if we're gonna go skiing we better go soon before the weather turns nasty!

But I'm up for anything! Catch you all and will elaborate when we get back Sunday!!! Gotta go for a surf now :P

Nothing like spending 10yrs as a bodyboarder on Sydneys inner city breaks to learn how to cope with aggro in the water :( And then for the total opposite, actually finding anyone 'keen' to go for a session @ Eagle Hawk Neck Reef (Tassie - my old local break) on a gloomy 8'-10'+ storm swell (300 yard paddle over known pointer territory!) But the big pits & end bowl is WORTH IT :)

k we should get something planned - but next weekend is a bad option since we are having Drifty's cruise Friday night (I'm looking forward to that one!). Two SAU related events in one weekend is a bit much (for the missus to bear :D )

Then the drags are on the weekend after (5th)

Then it is my 1 year wedding anniversary the weekend after (don't even try to get me to go out that weekend - I value my life)

.... so unfortunately it looks like I am out till the weekend 19/20th April.

Hmmmmm

If u all wanna do something sooner then organise away - but my hands are tied till then :D

It will be a reasonable SAU gathering at the drags on the 5th so why don't we organise some name tags etc and have a bit of a proper social gathering there? Someone could bring a barbie and esky and we could do it in the dirt :(

What are you saying Pawley only women should cook. Im half offended, When you do it for a living atleast 10 hours per day there is only so much I can handle. Was your car up at the Shops near the Bremen pub the other day. Id take up two parks too with your car.

    • The cam I am actually putting in (a few posts up) is actually smaller than my current one. At least duration/overlap wise. All the chop stuff I hear just sounds like an engine running badly, because it is. I then envision driving it around in 1st gear and being massively sad about it bucking to the beat of said chop. There is an idle video of someone with a similar cam floating around the internet, but mine is a custom cam (so is his) so it'll never be the same, plus the fact exhausts are entirely different. What I want to do is put some bullet mufflers/race mufflers in to replace a couple sections straight pipes that currently replace the two extra cats that I don't need. But this is even further down the line!
    • I can tell you now, when the bracket that the little hydraulic ram attaches to snaps, with a subframe, and V8 from an AMG C63 on it, it sounds like someone letting shotgun off right beside you. It leaves your ears ringing, and a huge thankfulness that you never ever put a body part under something heavy that's only supported by a hydraulic lift...
    • Still not a guarantee fix. I used a high quality butyl-mastiq (the black goo that's not really silicone nor polyurethane, same stuff they use from the factory that just spreads out like melty cheese), and I still get lots of water on both sides of the trunk when raining or washing the car. I also suspect the factory spoiler rubber gasket might not be sealing well, so I'm thinking of adding a thin layer of grey silicone around the bolt holes on both sides and see if that's where it also leaks from. The biggest issue is that these cars don't come with a drain hole on each side like other coupes and hatchbacks.
    • I hate it, but maybe he could paint it Monster jam style and call it...godzilla?
    • Would seem to me to be appropriate to go GTR style bar. There are options with and without N1 vent holes, with the GTR lower lip integral (because FG copy). https://justjap.com/search?q=r32 bumper
