Gday,

Just picked up 2 continental sport contact II's for my car (235/45/18) and wondering if anyone had used them and where they stand in terms of grip and wear compared to other benchmark-ish tyres?

As far as I know it's a mid-high range street tyre? What would be a rough retail on these? How would they last a track day compared to say a semi?

Thanks.

hey mate,

mum has them on her benz, they are qquite good from what i can tell, she gives them a hiding too.

She got them replaced at her last service they were like $450 each from the dealership.

yeh, ive used these in 245/40/17, pretty good, they come on alot of hi end euro cars. wet weather is damn good, but not the best "racey" tyer, for the price brand new you could get somthing better thats more suited to what you want, but i score them from work for free

See hundreds of these and I don't like them in general. occasionally you'll get a good batch but they're prone to corigation and if your tyre pressures ever creep out of the optimal setting, they feather more then a bird in summer!

the moral of the story is = keep those tyre pressures up and they will be a good street tyre. Plenty of grip with low wear but i wouldn't imagne that they would be an ideal track tyre

Hope that helps and saves you from a noisey ride in the future :ban:
