hi all im only new to this forum and i have already found it extremely useful.

ok i have an rb20det in my vl calais and am in the process of building up the motor basically with boltons, what do u think i could expect from the following combo?

Z32 AFM

rx7 series 5 550cc injectors

bosch 040 or 044 or gtr pump

either GT3040R or GT3071R turbo im unsure yet as to what turbo i am going to use, but will retain internal wastegate either way

600x300x76 fmic

aftermarket exhaust manifold

3 inch split dump pipe

3 inch mandrel bent exhaust

and have the stock ecu retuned by sam at dr drift

oh yeah car is a 5speed 33 box and diff is 9inch lsd with 4.11s if this makes any difference

what power do u think i could see, all internals r completely stock

do you think 220rwkw is dreaming or could i nearly get there?

thanks heaps

220 is realistic. a GTS4 with a hiflow made 210rwkw on sams dyno at 17psi.

I would imagine a GT30 family turbocharger should make a touch more, but it will be more laggy. The GTS4 was locked into rwkw mode

If you want 220rwkws the dont worry about going for a turbo as biug as those you suggested. A much smaller garrett will ame the power you want...a highflow of an R33/34 turbo or a 2nd hand HKS 2530, or a new HKS2530 KAI should all be good for 220rwkw and be more responsive then big tubos like GT3070R etc

i use a 2530 on my rb20, i think its brilliant. I'm more than happy with it.

I'm not making 220rwkw with mine but theres other who seem to be making those sort of numbers. i'm making just over 205rwkw with mine.

As roy said, those turbos above are abit over kill

and have a look at few different setups.

i may have been misinformed but i was told the series 5 rx7 injectors were a straight swap.

If not i will just run the gtr injectors and ballast resistor from kudos motorsports. the gtr injectors are 444cc right. how much rwkw are they good for?

and if i had a GT3071R would it be overly laggy, when would it start to make boost and when could i expect full boost. (i dont know how much i can run yet so say would 16psi be safe with all stock internals?)

hes got your engine mixed up, thinking it was an r33 gtst engine. those injectors will work fine

a turbo you could look at would be a gt2571r with a .63 housing. would be good for a little more power than that however

I went for a GT25 BB 400 with a 0.64 housing to keep the lag down on my GTS4. The car makes positive manifold pressure in the low 3K mark in the higher gears and is always at full boost by 4200 regardless of which gear i am in at the time.

I will soon have installed my anti-lag system which will allow me to spool to 18lb at 3500 rpm for launching and flat gear change shifting with no loss of boost pressure between shifts.

I totally agree with the other guys here.. buy the smallest turbo that you can that is capable of making the power you want. Then if its still too laggy when you go racing get anti-lag.
