Cold Start

Recently I have noticed that when I start the car I get a wierd noise from the engine.

The noise goes away when the engine warms up. Its hard to desciribe the noise but reading some other posts it may be piston slap... but I'm unsure it may just be noisy pistons?.

Anyone else have this issue please share...

do you have aftermarket forged pistons?

never heard a std engine have piston slap before.

you park on an angle now? like facing up or down a hill?

can be the time difference in getting the oil to the bearings etc

ive never pulled the engine down so as far as i know its standard pistons. I park on level ground

Its just odd its recently started???

put thinner oil in recently?

my guess...

leaky gaskey, once stuff heats up it goes away... so probably a very small leak

That could be about right.

I use 10w 40 Motul 300V Chrono.... Ive been using it for a while.

I know im missing a bolt from the manifold... or rather its snapped off. Who knows how to get them out??

Cos id love to replace the manifold gasket and all the bolts??

Anyone willing to help theres a slab in it I heard the beer currency goes along way.

i wouldn't be using beer currency if its an exhaust stud thats broken ..

easy outs or get a pro in to do it..

there was a thread not long ago posted by silver gtst about stud removals etc. do a search.
