G'day all,

Just thought I'd let you know of an upcoming car event which might be of interest to some and looks to be a great weekend away.

Safe Drive Training are running an event named "State of Origin Grudge Match" and is basically an event similar to Dutton Rallies and Indy Rally and targeted at car enthusists from both Queensland and New South Wales. This all happens at the best possible time being right in the middle of the Rugby League State of Origin so plenty of rivalry going on and pride at stake. The event is made up of numerous speed tests such as motorkhanas, hillclimbs, skidpan and straight line sprints and entry fees include accommodation and food, making this very competitively priced against other rallies.

They are looking for around 20-25 people per team/state and require a minimum of 15 per team for the event to go ahead. Time is running out fast, so if you are even remotely interested in entering and would like further info check out http://www.sdt.com.au/GRUDGE.htm or email Tahlia Simmonds (Event Manager) at [email protected] asap.

Something tells me Queensland has it in the bag, but if you think otherwise, well then......... :D

Ohhh if those guys get their registrations in soon it should make for an interesting competition. I heard the QLD team so far is alot of EVOs and a beema and a few others. Still waiting for more registrations to finalise the teams tho!!

That R34 should given a run for their money! :/

pfft sif. dreaming :worship:

we have a couple of nsw-ers entering including a ful sic 34 gtr :spank:

If that R34 is Me duncan, I hight have an issue, I need to be NZ on the 10th June so I dont think I can make it, but my house at Soth West rocks is still available if needed.

Yeah, I wish it was like that, but I have been working hard since I was 17 and Im a tight ass. My dad said buy property and eventually you can buy cars, not the other way round. I drove sh!t box's for the first 15 years, only now can I enjoy the lines!

Funny enough he was right!

    • I did some research, considering you have a neo engine, how is that battery compatible? I checked centuries website and super cheap and says it's not compatible. Only this full size one is. https://www.centurybatteries.com.au/products/ns60-mf
    • No, lets be honest here. I went to Winton and did a track day, for all the mods and V8 power and craziness I posted up a time that a K24 stock motor Honda Accord can do on the same tyres (narrower, too) 250kw and learning how to drive the f**kin thing is the sweet spot.
    • While that's true, that is the only thing that those cars can do. Whereas a car like ours can also weigh 500kg less, and take a corner properly without risk of punching a hole in the concrete barrier when it lets go. Oh, and sound good. Oh, and not just be a mobile iPad.
    • Nah, that's the video I was referring to! I want to see you have a proper crack this time, unlike at 2:20 in that video where you are just taking it easy! What do you reckon it'll do at Wakefield? 1:03 ish?
    • This is where what you want is a Barra 4L. I had the FG XR6T for a few years. It made bulk power, and so stupidly effortlessly. But if you want true amazing power that's incredible in traffic light GPs or getting into a gap in traffic, you can't beat an EV...
