The GTR fuel tank is actually 72l. Fuel economy is very dependant on modifications, tuning and of course driving style. around 350-400 is pretty normal around town and you should get well over 500 on a purely highway cruise with minimal boost.

geez thats pretty good i didnt wxpect anything like that. thought it would drink pretty steadily. i'm thinking i should seriously think about getting one now.

To be absolutely clear, the tank can _theoretically_ hold 72L, but the factory allows for about a 6L air/vapour space so the tank can never be completely filled. 65L is about the average practical fill for a GTR tank, but some will see more and some will see less.

R33's and R34's have a 65 lt tank, i believe 32's have the bigger tank.

yes r32 gtr's do have a 72 litre tank BUT you wont fit that much in them by the time vapour lock is taken into consideration

fromtime fuel warning light comes on i have only ever fit 63 litres in mine and i doubt they would allow 9 litres of emergancy fuel in the tank

From the R32 GTR factory WS manual:

Fuel tank _nominal_ capacity = 72L

Intake air capacity = 5.5L

As I said, the air capacity is an allowance for vapour, expansion, etc and is deducted from the _nominal_ capacity of the tank, which gives a theoretical max for liquid of 66.5L. Again, some will get perhaps slightly more, some less, which gazza750 has just proven and is certainly my experience.

Just on this, but a little to the side...

Ive noticed that when my R32GTR gets a little low on fuel, mabey 1/3 of a tank, the car seems to run a little rough/chuggy on idle when cold, almost stalls, until up to temp. Buggered if i know why? Any guesses, wouldnt be to do with vapour lock/pressure would it?

Oh i get about 23l/100km as well Beer Baron... :unsure:

in my 33 gtr i get about 14-15l/100 average with normal driving, although can be a bit higher or lower depending on how i drive it... when my GF drives it it chews quite A bit less than my 4l ford (city driving), seen it as low as 11l/100km. the r is basically stock.

      I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility

      I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...

      Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
