Rb25 Bottom End Rb20 Head

Hi people

I've got an rb20 in my car at the moment with heaps of mods like splitfires coils and injectors ect and i've just come across an engine with an rb 25 bottom end with an rb20 head this means i can keep all my performance bits as well as my aftermarket computer. So what do you guy think?? is it worth it and how much power can the engine make with the rb20 head (i hear they don't flow to well). it's got all the aftermarket bits turbo, fuel, ignition, computer.

waste of time, don't bother!

Read the Rb30 conversion thread for more details but basically you'd be far better off money wise and performance wise with just a plain RB25 or RB30!

Sorry i forgot to mention that the engine came out of a car in japan in working order. the engines costing me 800 so it's rather cheap.

you get what you pay for, and i wouldnt pay 800 for an rb20/25 if it was gold plated.... build a 30 and never look back!!!

i don't think an rb30 will fit in a 180sx

As i said earlier, head over to the rb30 section and do a search, you will find atleast 2 blokes that have put rb30's into s13's, not as easy as putting into r32/32 etc. but more than doable!

nah waste of money and time theres no real point in having a RB 25 bottom end and 20 head neither would make decent power together better off with a Rb25 engine more POWER!!!!!!!!! and more torque!!!!!!!!

RB20 head is around 30-35% less flow than the RB25 head

So its a pointless excercise to get eveything to bolt on as its not a direct swap anyway
