should organise a SAU-VIC drag day later on in the year...late spring/early summer....get some good track temps, but not too hot actual temps (dont want to have overheating issues ontop of gearbox troubles) :(

I also recorded my 2 best times after i handed in my times to ash....but I'm pretty sure pete has quickest RWD ET with his 12.8 for sure, my quickest was still 0.6 over that.

Definatly agree that the guy operating the tree wasn't very consistant with the time delay between staging and setting the tree going, I was revving for quite a while there on a few occasions, then other times I staged an less than a second after, the lights started falling....

hehe i asked the younger guy where the finish line was and he goes its his first day he doesnt no.. but somewhere at the end of the track...

The scrutinering was way more laid back than calder, that lady just made sure i had nothing in the boot.. :(

yeah i was expecting an engine bay check as well...even if it was just a quick 1....the guy didnt even look like he was gonna check my boot till i said, "do you wanna have a look?" after he asked if there was anything in there...lol

its obvious as anything can be. once you pass the xmas tree lines back off and you can begin slowing down. there are no other lines along the track so its theres nothing else it could be. i dont see where the confusion is or what else you were expecting?

pass the lines, the run is over. you should top out around 160km/ph when you pass this line in a mild R33 skyline

160km/h... yeah, right :worship:

And it was a fair call. The lines and markings aren't super clear for those who haven't done it before. There's no big sign or busty lass in a bikini waving a chequered flag for you. That said - one run makes it pretty obvious.

Very pleased everyone had a good time. The WRX guys share much the same sentiment, so I think another one MUST be done before the end of the year.

Team Lada will have some surprises ;):spank:

even my pass was complete at 98mph, just under 160km/h, so a real car with some power would be beating that ;)

and yes, 3 of these a year would be good....seems to be plenty of interest!

All photos have been uploaded to my server. I had to divide them into 15 parts as they are fairly large (250+ mb's in total). Total of 486 photos.

number 10 seems to be damaged Hus ...

I really dislike how the board at heatcote is before the finish line.

At calder, you see your time right after you finish. You dont have to do all this park, stop, collect, surprize time stuff :worship:

But yes, the 400m was where all the crap was painted on the road.

as if bass you will now want a low 12 or a 11 next time the drags are on hope to see you do it great job pete, im just happy that i got my 13 and did not stuff the clutch like i did last year

It was a great day. Thanks for organising it all Paul and Co. Not only was it a good from a driver view, it was just as fun from a spectator. The only gripe I have, is that Heathcote didn't let us continue with the BBQ, due to "Heath and Safety Reasons"…. The Ladies running the canteen weren't even wearing gloves, whilst handling my food!

Who was the other guy with the white 34 running slicks, no interior and no LH headlight? What times did he run?

At the end of the day, I was happy with my best time of 14.7 @ 94.6mph. Such a low terminal speed. I couldn't break over 95mph. So very happy to be in the mid 14's.
