Rear Coilover Set Up

i just put some coilovers on the rear of my R33 gts-t i set the pre load and ride hight to with the c spanners. and yes i mesured it accuritley. i put the shocks on my car and mesured the distance from the top of the rim to the guard it was like a couple of cm diffrent is this normal or should i adjust the ride hight to match???

also there is two diffrent tyers on the rear could this be the problem???

hey there, i have same problem...but i have the same tread on the rear. i'm guessing that would make it be out so much, (especially if you have one tyre more worn than the other)

mine was only a coulpe mm out either side, but i think thats because of my slack measurements.

i say its the tyres.

Measure from the centre of wheel to guard, and then compare. That way tyres have no effect.

its still 1 cm out is that normal?

mine was out. i set coilovers based on number of threads on the adjustment, but the wheel to guard measurement was like 2cm out. probably due to hitting a few ripple strips every now and then...

just use wheel-guard and adjust as required

Adjust it so that the centre of wheel to guard heights are the same, not the amount of preload. For the amount of load that the car places on the spring seats, preload is negligable once the weight of the car is down.

Your cars weight is not symetrical from left to right....

especially if you have a decent amount of fuel in the tank.

Just measure form the centre of the wheel to the guard and adjust for that measurement.
