Hi Guys,

i am wiring up my series 2 RB25DET and getting it ready to put in my 240K.. i have wired up most of the connections on the right hand side of the engine, but the left side is giving me some trouble.

i would really appreciate it if anybody knows what these connections are? i need to connect them up i assume.

I will try to describe it as best as i can (and provide colours); the wiring harness comes out of the firewall and then slits into 2, one going behind the engine and to the right hand side (under the manifold and to the front of the engine), and the other goes up the left side of the engine somewhere.

Left hand side harness (from back to front):

small brown box (some sort of control box or something) 7 wires - blue/red, blue/yellow, brown/white, brown, orange, black, purplepost-124-1147000082.jpg

connector coming off near brown box (it was cut on my loom) 2 wires - Black, green/blackpost-124-1147000117.jpg

exhaust O2 sensor

3 wire connector - Orange/Blue, White/blue, Black/White -EDIT- this is the AFM sensor post-124-1147000159.jpg

2 wire connector - Blue/white, light green - maybe AC? although the AC compressor only seems to have a single wire connector

heavy duty 5 wire connector - Blue/Red, green/orange, light blue, green/red, yellowpost-124-1147000240.jpg

i assume one of these are the AFM connector, however the AFM i have (for RB25DET) has 5 connectors, so it doesn't match any of these, so i may have a seres 1 AFM which could be different.

There is also another block of connections with 5 connectors on it, right behind the engine (just near the firewall hole) it has the colours; light green/Black, black, light green/Red, Orange, blue/redpost-124-1147000292.jpg

any help will be greatly appreciated as always!

Fun isn't it?

Alrighty.. off the back of my conversion.. it's fairly fresh in my mind so here goes.. (Note I gained a lot off bh_slo32, and col-gtsx.. thanx for their help!) Now I pass it on..

Some of it is a bit general, others can probably be more specific, or point out any errors. :(

That's your wiper amplifier. It may be required to get your wipers working, or at least change speeds? Probably not very important to start with, worry about that later.

connector coming off near brown box (it was cut on my loom) 2 wires - Black, green/black

This sounds like the boost control solenoid... Again, probably not very important, unless you must maintain a factory setup in every way. Photos of this would help.

2 wire connector - Blue/white, light green - maybe AC? although the AC compressor only seems to have a single wire connector

Which side? left/right? Think I might know the one... If it's the one I'm thinking of it may be optional. Is it up close to where the loom enters the firewall? Photos of this would help.

That's one of your main enginebay plugs. Light blue is engine check light (to dash).. Green/orange is one of the consult a signals (TX or RX) and i think green/red is like consult CHK. Blue/Red is IGN power to wipers. yellow is ? (i left mine empty).

There should be a grey one here too? This is for 12v (I think its 12v IGN) injector voltage. It's important to have this hooked up or car won't start.

3 wire connector - Orange/Blue, White/blue, Black/White -EDIT- this is the AFM sensor Attached Image

I don't believe so, it should be 4 pins I think for the AFM.. Looks like the plug to the CAS to me..

There is also another block of connections with 5 connectors on it, right behind the engine (just near the firewall hole) it has the colours; light green/Black, black, light green/Red, Orange, blue/red

That's your actual wiper plug.. plugs into the wiper motor

Anyhow, hope this points you in some right directions.

Thanks for that!

does anybody have any photo's of the boost solenoid? (or better yet, one they can sell me :(, unfortunately the connector on this one has been ripped off, so i have no idea what it would look like

the blue/White, light green connector is somewhere on the air filter side of the engine, it is a fair way down the loom, after the single wire termintated thingy, near the AFM cable

from what i have found the series 2 AFM has 3 wires, the Series 1 had 4 i think.

with regards to the last 5 wire connector at the end of this loom (picture number 3), should another loom fit into this? again this would be somewhere near the air filter i assume. what would the check light and consult signals be doing around here? wouldn't they be on the inside of the car generated by the ECU?
