JetDat - funny you should mention that, I have just seen one of the black carbon jobbie ones pass me at some insane speed on the motorway!

Husnu - thanks mate, appreciated, will let you know.

Liberty suggestions - We already have an RX (one from November DECA) which is an awesome car so dont really want another. I want something that packs a lot of punch and can be chucked around without blowing up (in the short term). Would go the cossie again but no good for a daily driver on spares.

I originally looked at an EVO 9 or STI MY06 but they would be novated and when I can get an EVO 6 or a MY00 STI for the 30-35K mark, I think I would prefer that. Also with the novated, last thing I want is to be paying out a fair amount of $$ each month out of my salary, only to not own the car at the end.

The other issue is the $$ I have been allocated for a car which is about 10K a year. I dont want to be eating into what my normal take home salary is especially with just getting a mortgage.

I have also looked at tacking a bit extra on to the mortgage but as we only just have enough for the deposit, it would mean paying mortgage insurance.

Anyway, keep the suggestions and opinions coming. :(

just put an offer on a property myself so i decided not to get anything for a while :(

also i forgot to add if you think of an a4 turbo or any other audi takes your fancy pm me , i have a good contact pretty high up in the audi melbourne centre...

Do it!

LOL! :D

That or the Evo are getting my vote. Just need to do some final sums on purchase price vs cost of ownership.

If anyone knows the rough servicing costs on an Evo 6 and also who can do them (i.e Mitsubishi or whether it has to be an import specialist) that would be great. My mate owned a 6 back in 1999 when they first landed in the UK and running it was astronomical so I am hoping they have come down a bit.
