Hey guys

dunno if its just the ceffys ive had or me ;) but the firewall seems to be weaker where the clutch master bolts upto when ya do a five speed conversion from the auto this time around im running a OS twin plate and the firewall flexes like an inch, inch and a half i'm thinkin that if left itd probably crack and make me cry :D plus it feels like the clutch isnt engaging all the way :D sssoooooo I was just wondering if there was such a thing as a brace for the clutch master to stop flex or anyones ideas on how to resolve this problem cheers for any help :P

To be safe - Get the firewall welded up but will be a few hundred $$$$

As for braces...NFI havent heard of anything.

A mate just put his foot thru the firewall becuase of this exact reason...literally installed the heavier clutch, drove around for 10 mins then BANG....

hmm i think i need one of these bracing devices also. Mines only a 5 puck brassy and can feel it slightly flexing already - also was a auto to manual converted cef. anyway got a link to where ya can get them?

EDIT: Paid closer attention to it today after this thread. I actually think its just my clutch pedal box thingo twisting slightly with a bit of creaking so prob not firewall afterall. Probally just have to grease it up a bit and have a closer look one day. Meh no biggie. I'm not really fussed.

yer same here konect unless i'm simply oblivious to the fact it may be flexing... OR i dont drive it enough :)

Nah I gave my a real test last night with clutch kicks and pushing as hard as I could on it and there was no way it was flexing :P

Yeah its the converted ones that do it i had one factory manual and it never flexed at all hmmmm i guess now the mission is to find one of these braces and get the firewall welded just to be safe thanks guys

    • Hi All Does anyone know what size bolts are used to mount the bonnet hinge to the bonnet on an R32 GTR please? I'd usually just buy them OEM but they are nearly £20 each and I need all 4
    • interestingly enough, i found out the answer is yes. doing a flush did fix my recurring A/T light. it might have been because of the trans filter: but that doesn't really make sense to me. the fluid/filter was super dirty. would that increase the pressure in the lines and trigger an A/T light? does the car even have a way of detecting that? i have no idea. i've done 200+ miles after the flush and no A/T light. if my A/B solenoids went bad, i would think the light would've come on. shifts and drives way better now though...at 2k rpm instead of 2500...no hesitation and downshifts when i want it to.
    • I vote go red. Only because I hate keeping gloss black clean. Was no worries helping out either! Glad you've survived the rain outs of QLD
    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
