Hi Guys, I am sorry if this has been covered. I did search but could not find what I am after, feel free to point me in the correct direction.

I have recently had a chip/remap and dyno tune of my facotry ECU by Dr Drift. I was happy with the result however I live away from him and as I continue to modify my car I don't see the benifit in paying at LEAST $500 to travel with my car to him to have it retuned when I could have at dyno tuned locally if I were to have a PFC and could have it done as the mods progress...

The PFC seems to be the number once choice for the Skyline and is comonly tuned by most places so I think I will stick with it.

The main questions that I have are;

How much am I able to get one for new and where from?

How cheap could I get one for second hand... with or without hand controller?

ANY input would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers guys, Todd

dont buy it without the hand controller for the purpose of saving $100 or so. it will really annoy you later on, just get it with the hand controller brand new and save the hassles.

nengun.com has it for $945 delivered with hand controller

under a grand new with controller sounds good to me, then say $200 for initial tune... then about $150-200 for following tunes... much cheaper then over $500 for every tune!

I would say $700 second hand with controller would be fair then!

Mate from what I can see you have a R32 Gtst so im guessing you have a RB20DET, if so expect to pay more like $1500 for a FC with a hand controller as you have to get an AP Engineering one,

I got the AP Engineering FC with H/C for just under $1400 delivered. And with tuning its often the case of you get what you pay for. but as paulr33 said, $400 is resonable. i found most recognised places were charging around $500+ when i was pricing it.

Machine! Thanks a lot for that paul!

Just for those interested...

Apexi RB25 PowerFC on RB20

To run the RB25 PowerFC you need to swap injector triggers for cylinders 5 and 6. You also need to run larger than rb20 injectors. You should be able to swap to Rb26 440cc injectors without much fuss and this should work, providing you dial in the correct injector latency and correction.

Apexi RB26 PowerFC on RB20

The traditional Ap Engineering RB20 model is in fact and RB26 model remapped to suit the RB20 loom and sensors. The main differences between the two is Airflow meter and 02 sensors. The RB26 having two, and the RB20 having one of each.

Two AFM:

If you are using two airflow meters you will need to run wiring for the second airflow meter manually as the RB20 loom only has support for one airflow meter.

One AFM:

If you are using one airflow meter you can simply parrallel up the airflow meter signal into the second input on the RB26 ecu. The ECU will average out both signals despite it coming from the same airflow meter to work out engine load (or airflow load).

the FAQ has been updated, see section

17. Hybrid Apexi PowerFC models and mix n match models, can it be done?
