Had a great day.. some awesome cars there.. got some other ones including some of the rotors but i've just selected the best photos..

Got some videos as well.. Might encode them if I get a chance and put them up.. see how we go..

That drift car was quick.. (till he snapped the driveshafts)

Had a great time on the track...thanks to steve for organising on the day and others who made it happen, sorry didnt get to say bye to everyone as you guys were on the track still. Nice to put faces to names as well and to meet you guys/ladies.

Thanks Doodz for letting put my stuff in your garage appreciated that. Lucky no walls there went off 3 times :), for sure semi slicks or better tyres will improve handling and confidence.

Hi people, man what a day! thanks to steve and Adam for the day and for the accomodation, pity we all stunk! :)

I couldn't believe how sticky those semi's were, I was really throwing the car around the track and at the end of the day i was even trying to get a powerslide going out of some corners but they just stuck to the track like shit to a blanket! People i really can't express how good these are, the hotter they got the better they stuck. I knew i had the grip there but not as much as i did!

Jon, i really do feel sorry for you, for both track days now half the day you've been fixing something! just glad you got it sorted and got out there, impressive times for road tyres! Same for Shaun, i think if you got semi's on you would've got down to 1.12 -1.13 easy! Ando for a car running 6psi that thing sure does get moving, i couldn't get by you on the straight but glad i could keep up through the corners. James i hope you liked your ride, sorry it wasn't as quick as i took Liz around but she brings the best out in me, with the quote "man hit the ripples, your driving like a pussy!" with that i thought thats it if i go off who cares just as long as i scare Liz, but i didn't dammit. OZGTR thanks for the fast lap, and some tips, will take it all on board, and if there's a passenger session at EC i'll put my hand up now.

Anna bandana and Bunts nice to meet you both, hope you find a house down here soon.

And Thanks to my cuz who became my pit crew for me, nice to spend some time with ya and have a drink,or six :)

Dave that car of yours is a weapon, would love to see it fully prepped for a track day a 1.13 on street tyres! man just awesome.

Anyway looking forward to EC, doubt i'll be as quick there as i was here but i'm up for it. Need power at EC which i don't really have.

Cheers!

Adam.

Hey Mate, was good to have some thing to do the whole day :D You had some awesome runs out there, next time I should be on the track as well though so you will need some new pit crew :D

got a few pics of ya, if you want the full size ones, PM me your email addy and I will send them thru

oh and next time I sure as hell am not drinking that much or passing out on a couch haha

Just got home...I would like to thank every one for making us feel so welcome. It was a great event and had a really awesome atmosphere, also I was impressed by the way that all (that I know) of you guys managed to cut down on your PB's by a fair bit over the course of the day:D

Special thanks goes to Ando and Corinne for taking me for a "spin" eh Corinne??? :)

That was cool!

It was my first time to a track day (even as a spectator) and I was very impressed with the cars and the driving.

Im keen to get out there myself and will for sure next time.

I may have to go to a few of the 'speed of the street day's and get some times behind me :D

well done to everyone :)

Hi all, wow, what can I say, an amazing weekend. Just wanna say thanks to all the people that organised this event, I had a great time there. Also big thanks to Steve who went out with me on the first session and checking my oil levels. A big thanks to Norm for helping me with the securing the air filter and tidying up the front bar to a more respectable level. Thank you adam for showing me the power of semi slicks, 1.13 is a remarkable time to get, especially with only stock boost, you sure know how to drive adam, but i'll beat you one day :D A round of thanks goes to UAS for fixing my car in 3 days just in time for the track day. Last but not least, a big thanks to my car for holding it all together through all this.

As much I would love to get semi slicks for the next event, I don't think I deserve them at the moment. I still need practice getting the braking points correct and getting some good speed out of corners but I definitely learned a great deal through this event and I hope to improve my times at the next event.

It was great meeting you people in person. Hi Anna, Buntaaaaaaaa, Ando, Corinne and anyone else I missed. I especially enjoyed getting wasted with you people on saturday night.

Now BRING ON THE PHOTOS!!! how about me getting off the track 3 times and trying to drift on the S curves :)

James not a problem, i didn't really drive hard with you in the car, i didn't want to say anything but mate, i had no brakes! the pedal kept going to the floor! so didn't really push it. Would've liked to scare the shit out of you though.

And yes, yes i do know how to drive :)

    • Duncan:- it affect both sides.  Driver side is worse.
    • That seems like a very special issue!  Does it affect both sides? Either way, I would disconnect the driver's side switch and see if it still happens, noting that might require removal of the whole door card which is a bit of a pain (it does on V37 and HY51)
    • MBS206:- The windows start to slowly open themselves. GTSBoy:- Battery is new since Dec.
    • I currently have a 2008 370GT Coupe, with the big brakes (Akebeno if I'm correct), and Its coming time to get new pads. Previously, I had a 2003 350GT Coupe with the stock sized brakes, not Brembos. I had custom wheels on it that were pretty open to the brakes, and when I first put the wheels on it, the rims where completely coated with brake dust. A few years after adding the new rims, I needed to change to pads on that car. I didn't do any research, but I told the mechanic of the problem with the brake dust. I also told him I didn't track the car or even drive around the streets harshley. But the dust was an issue. The mechanics changed the pads to a different compound, and the dust was GONE! The other change I noted was that when coming to a complete stop, instead of having to press harder on the pedal as I approached 0kph, I had to actually lift off a little to not come to a hard jerky stop.( My unfounded explanation is they became stickier as they heated by stopping ) Since I got my 370gt with big brakes, I noticed that that as I came closer to stopping, I had to press harder and harder to reach a full stop. I am not talking about hard, just harder. I brought the car in from another state, so when I had a blue slip done, I asked the mechanic what he thought of the brakes, and he thought they were brilliant. The only negative of these pads on the 350GT, was that they squealed when cold. So driving out of a shopping center carpark, it was a little embarrassing, as the brakes squealed, and I am sure people thought that I needed new brakes, when they were actually fresh. I have no idea of what type of compound they were on the 350gt, but whatever it was, I want to get the exact same on my 370GT. They weren't ridiculously expensive, and were replaced at the local JAX (which is no longer open), so I am certain they would be a pretty common big brand, off the shelf type/brand. My current mechanic suggested I need top get the rear pads changed soonish, but he suggested standard Brembo pads. Which I expect to behave the same as the current ones and not like the ones on the 350GT.  I don't think dust will be an issue on the 370GT. With the behaviour I describe above on the 360GT, does anyone have a suggestion of pad material that will act like the change I had done on the 350GT?
