With the new national standard for vehicle modification all the satets should be the same.

Shhhhhh..... be vewwy vewwy quiet.....
For coupes; The rear occupants access is not to be restricted, so fixed buckets aren't allowed (Exception of cars converted to 2 seats through vic roads because of a rollcage/stripped interior)

For Four doors; all is good, as rear occupants have their own doors :P

i have also heard this to be true. my mate had a toyota sprinter which he made his own fixed back bucket seats with a mould he made up, and it was illegal to register it due to the rear passengers not being able to have addeqate access to and from the vehicle. so he had to turn the car into a 2 seater by mod plate and remove the rear seats. which he then replaced with custom stereo install. it makes sense aswell. if there was afire or sumthing u wouldnt wanna be trapped in the rear.
