thanks for that mate it does kinda help.

the thing is, my cousin in law has 2 cars that he's selling, a 94 R33 GTS4 auto NA and a 2000 model honda civic VTiR 2 door coupe. now i'm not allowed to get a turbo yet. now if i get the civic i'm afraid of people calling it "ricer" and shit :) coz it is kitted, etc. but i also would'nt mind keeping the NA R33 till i'm off my Ps so basically this is why i'm full of questions lol

thanks

I would go the Civic VTiR over an R33 GTS4 auto NA (provided the Civic bodykit isn't too extreme). The weight of four wheel drive and automatic would dull the performance of the RB25DE considerably IMO - A manual Civic VTiR might actually even be faster in a straight line! (But if so, not by much...)

it allways cracks me up watching nissan fans bash honda :) honda have made cars that no nissan ever built (stock) could touch.

Dunno about every one else, but I'm pretty sure an R34 GTR N1 or NUR could keep up with anything (on 4 wheels) honda can throw at them...

Get a Vti-R and turbo it if you 'must' have a turbo. The VTi-R will be very reliable, and will go very well too. My brother had a VTi-R civic Coupe. 118kw and it was awsome (smacked down rb25de) skylines no problem. He later turbo'd it.. and let me tell you, no rb25det skyline was comming anywhere near it.. haha!!! The car has since sold and so has the turbo kit, and the new owner achieved 185fwkw and has since ran a 12.5 on semi-slicks down the 1/4. Pretty impressive if you ask me. Thats another option you can take if you wish.

Yeah, I know I wouldn't take my Skyline near something that at any minute could torque steer violently across 6 lanes of traffic and end up in someones living room...

NSX? im sure that cld beat a fair few nissans around

come on guys, be more mature than that ... if we just start bashing everything else, then we are no better than the next scum that bags our cars ... think about it ... well our meaning your, i dont have a skyline no more

I dont reckon there was any real Honda bashing there. In fact, I said I would go the VTiR over the skyline a few posts back, and I respect a few Honda's out there for sure.

The original comment got a reaction from me because of its speciffic wording:

honda have made cars that no nissan ever built (stock) could touch.

That comment seems a bit strong to me. To say that no Nissan can touch them is rediculous! In each key rivalry (Silvia vs Ingegra, S2000 vs 350Z, NSX vs GTR, etc), each car has its pro's and con's, and there is no quantifiable evidence of one car being better than the other. One might do something better than the other, but fall down in other areas.

And in regards to my torque steering comment - it was obviously a joke.

hondas are nice cars no doubt about that but as for turbo charging them and modifying to get some real power out of the things if you spent the same amount of cash on a skyline ud pull out much bigger power... its stupid to compare the two though and as for hondas vs nissan "(stock)" its pretty rediculous to even try and say that a modified nsx would go harder then a gtr...

Get a honda prelude! they're a little cheaper than the integras and go very hard round the corners. and you get VTEC yo.

are ypu talking about R34 GTR .. u gotta be kiddng me LOL .. give us your nsx n we'll show you what power is :) stock to stock

o yea and your s2000 can't even touch our 350z LOL ..

2L 4cly 'vs' 3.5L V6...? The S2000 is still the better car. What that s2000 engine does stock is nothing short of amazing. If I had $80k floating about, Id be going the S2000 over almost any other car in that price range any day.

Stock for stock the NSXs are quicker around a track and in a straight line than the GTRs - at least on average in the tests I have seen done by mad Japanese. The Nismo Z-Tune throws all that out, but theres no shame in an NA 3.2l RWD being slower than a GT500 car that got tricked into being a road car.

VTiR vs. turbo Skyline, the Turbo Skyline ftw. However, Type-R vs. turbo Skyline - in a straight line turbo Skyline ftw, around corners I tend towards the Type-R.

Fun for dollar spent, probably the Type-R - especially the way fuel prices are going.
