Will i ever get used to my triple-plate?? Every time i take off all 4 wheels spin. I need to put new tyre on her i wouldn't have a clue which ones. I NEED GRIP

Hello, something like the new Falken Azenis RT615 is a great tyre because it has very high all round performance with out the very high price tag and they last really well to, to top them off, they may not look it but they are classed by falken as just a normal street tyre, (Top of the range) value for money I don’t think you can beat them!

I got two 225-40-18 for $660 delivered for the front of my Gts-t and they are Excellent on the street and great out on the race track for grip and I am getting some for the rear soon as well, because the front had so much grip the crappy rears could not keep up.

No I am not saying Speedy Tyres would try and rip you off, it’s just that Tempe Tyres are a lot bigger and sell heaps more tyres every week so there margins are a lot less and you get tyres very cheap because of the amount they sell

Personally would go federal tyres, Scott Garwood at speedy's will be able to do a good deal, They always did the best price possible for me when I was down there.

Witch one is it?

How much power is your GTR making and what do you plan doing with it? Do you really need a triple plate clutch???

I'd suggest getting another clutch... I drive my GTR with an R3C (o.s. giken triple) everyother day, my GF also drives my car... but it will never be easy to use! (thats why I love it!!! oh, that and the wine of a dogbox) But I run 390 plus rwkw on the street :-)

Get a Jimm Berry single...

As for tyres... what do you do with your car? If you just drive it on the street, get a good street tyre, if you wan't to race a little get somthing like the Azenis... Horses for courses, if you get a semi comp style tyre, be prepared to have them wear faster...

I wouldn't have a clue how much power it has but once the forged pistons are in we are going to put it on the 4wd dyno and check it out. One thing i know is that it has alot of torque when it is running 23 psi on the way back from Devonport!!!!!!! Wooooooppps I doubt you have seen it since it wasn't on the road for long. If you haven't heres a pic

Im not a hundred % sure exactly what engine work it has done but i do know it has N1 turbos, HKS injectors, bigger cams, brembos on the front, triple plate, coil overs and i think the fuel pump has been upgraded too. And forged pistons soon in a new block.

As for what im going to do with it.......BOOST it i reckon . That clutch will be a bitch if i need to go through town

First things first. GET IT ON THE DYNO!!! No more 24psi!

Second thing, why do you need new pistons and a new block? Need a new block wtf???

Who's doing your work?

Get the thing back together, get it tuned, then don't bugger with it! I can highly recomend Brad Sherrif (if your in Launie) or Kutzie.

As for your clutch, ditch it. If your not going to drag race, the sell it and get your self a good Jim Berry single plate, it'll be so much better to drive, your going to get sick of stalling or "launching" very quickly. You'll end up destroying your gearbox anyway...

It'd be a shame to wreck such a nice looking GTR... My GF is envious.

With that style of set up, it should be a nice quick thing, just piss that clutch off.

Steven Bell. It had already been boared out a few times and it was either put sleeves in or a new block.

I wasn't the one who was driving it on 23psi either when the engine went. The previous owner in Japan had put average pistons in which meant they were already weak. 5 had chunks out of the rim. They weren't quite shattered though

Wow, that sux, having to re-block and re-build the thing as soon as you get it.

Oh and you can use a 2wd dyno, just drop the front shaft out of it.

Just get it tuned properly!!!

Even the best forged pistons in the world won't hold up if it's not tuned properly.

sorry to hijack ur thread Rosie....

but has anyone had experience with Falken Ziex Tyres? I believe the 326 not the 512 "all season" tyre.

Getting 18 x 9's on my Hr31 coupe and want it to grip.

Going coilovers front and rear and it currently has 200+ atw, shooting for 220-240rwkw soon.
