converting auto to 5spd

hey all,

jus wanna kno if it is a big job to convert a r32 gtst auto into a 5spd. will the manual box bolt in or does it need modifying??

My R31 was an auto that was converted to a manual. I got it after the conversion was done but I know that if you do it, you need to re-calibrate your speedo as they go out by as much as 20kmph. Re-calibrating speedos is not cheap either.

jvs007: talk to meggala on this forum, he's done a conversion on his R32. I have done on mine too, but mine is a R33. Quite a big job but it's not something that a good skyline specialist can't handle.

R31 Chick: why are your speedo out by 20kph?? are you still using the auto speedo cluster? I changed mine to a manual speedo cluster, so should be pretty accurate.

I bought mine with the conversion already done so god knows what one it had in it. But yeah, it was way out!

well, I suppose the auto speedo will still have that shift indicator on it. P-R-N-D-3-2 or sumthing like that. If you convert to manual and still use that auto speedo, don't be surprised if the speedo reading is out. maybe because of the difference in gear ratios?
