hi guys, i was jus wonderin if any1 has a spare r33 crank out there? i found out yesterday that austarlia an nissan japan r out! every1 is waitin for the back order in japan but they havent told any1 how long the wait is...so my engine rebuild has come to a halt...so i have 4 options...

1. wait till the back orders r ready (which have been told that it could take either jus weeks or months!) an do the rebuild...

2. get a 2nd hand r32 crank in good cond. an put a jun crank collar on an continue with the rebuild...but have been told its nots recommened kos bein 2nd hand crank it could crack at any time...

3.for about $6000-6500 i can get an r33 rb26dett put in with an exchange 4 my old engine...not sure wat condition the r33 engine is in an also only get 3 month warranty with it...

4.for about $9000 i get the r33 engine put in an also keep my old engine...again get 3 months warranty...

so wat do u guys think? which option should i go for?

or obviously if i can get a new crank all 2gether than ill take that option...

thanks 4 the advice guy... :)

Gidday mate, well i dont envy you at all as i know exactly how you feel as i too was on the waiting list for a 26 crank which believe me arent gonna be in aussie for quite some time. i flukently happened to get probably the last new 33 crank in Aussie from white hot motorsports in Dport that had been race preped and then shelved due to a change in racecar. I can give you a coulple of options, 1. i know of a 32 crank on standard 00 grind in exel cond for $500 or 2.I have a 33 crank at crankshaft rebuilders in melb that needs a 0.010 grind. R 32 crank as you may know have the downfall of a smaller oil pump drive surface that have been known to give probs when run with a high volume pump, but as a rule should be fine depending application. I dont know what the cost of the repair to mine would be but can find out if you think you might be interested ( spun No 1 bigend, but on measurement will clean up fine). Apart from that join the other 320 plus worldwide on backorder and twiddle thumbs >_< , cheers paul, 0428838802 if you need more info

Take the R32 crank for sure if you can't get the 33 one....the oil pump drive isn't as large but its not like its some sort of time bomb, especially with a new oil pump.

Both 32 cranks I've pulled out have shown wear on the pump but not that many of them fail.
