Anyone broken their remote rear seat handle in the boot ? seems pretty fragile for the force required to pull the cable and release the seat. Also, realised today that the rear seat can be laid back for extra comfort, using the handle next to the seat. thought that the rear seats were a little too upright.

Mines not broke, but then I dont get to use them often with 3 baby seats and all. If you have to pull harder then one finger then you got a seized cable or locking mechanism problem.

Yes, reclining rear seats are just another sweet Stagea touch, designed by someone who actually thought about what might be useful.

Now that you've broken it - what's it made of - plastic or metal?

Mine dont need much force at all to get them to work.... Also my kids found the recliner lever and now proceede to change it constantly to match their mood I guess.

I guess they copy me as first thing I do when I get in is seatbelt, then make tiny adjustments to mirrors and seat and then start her up.

I broke one of mine ;) cost $68 for a new one from Nissan.

That's not too bad seeing this on yahoo japan.

Around $50AUD purchase price only.

I have a feeling you may have paid $68 for the plastic handle only though...

Well my passengers side lever went this morning, went to drop the rear seat, didnt yank on it or anything, and snap.......

So what is the part number, for the passengers side one, I'm guessing the drivers side and passengers side will have different part numbers?

hey cyrus dont u reckon a dedicated sticky thread with stagea part numbers for parts us members buy would make it very easy and handy for others when it comes to ordering bits and pieces. im talking all parts like manual console surrounds, to these handles, and cargo covers, and anything inside or outside the stagea :miner: virtually a nissan fast part no. thread to save the nissan dealers from trying to find part no's on the Fast programs.

good or bad idea?

cheers

Yes well I had to have a fiddle didnt I

Well after 4hours of unscrewing and removing bits and pieces I found out why my ATESA isnt working right, one of the wires had worn through and was shorting out on the body, so whacked a bit of electrical tape around it and zippy tied it away from where it had worn through.

Anyway, I followed the line through and near the release mechanisim on the seat itself there is a white bit of plastic which sits around the cable and then slots into the unlocking mechanisim, one side of it had broken off, the plastic was a bit detiriorated, so I whacked a bit of superglue on it and let it dry, hey presto, works like a charm :P

Then it only took about 2hours to get it all back in, :D What an adventure :)
