I have done a search on this topic, but I could not find exactly what I was after.

I am interested to know how much boost can be run on a stock R33 turbo, and stock intercooler. I am getting a Power FC and dyno tune done soon and want to up the boost a little while I am at it. Is it safe to run 10psi with the stock 'cooler, or should I stick to about 8psi? The search results show that some people say a FMIC is needed, others say nothing, others say FMIC not needed.... can anyone clarify this?

For the record, the boost guage (at least in the R33) is in (x100) mm/Hg.

The conversion rates are

1 mm/Hg = 0.0193psi

1psi = 51.715mm/Hg

1 bar = 14.5psi or 750mm/Hg

This is getting f*kkin rediculous

YOU.. are a f**kwit!

Look at the joining date of Burnsies account, its new, I'm sure no one as rude as you said shit like that in one of your threads when you first joined. People like you are turning the good people away from SAU.

If you don't have any advice or anything constructive to say in a thread stick to the wasteland where you belong. At the very least you could have mustered up a comment suggesting the search button.

thanx heaps liz i would of said some to him but i really couldnt be bothered with ppl like him

stick with 10 nice and safe and plenty of power to boot

boring..

I suggest wind it up till it pops

on the serious side of things, I think that so many people have so many different opinions due to their experiances in this regard all with different set ups which makes it kinda hard to judge what you should be doing.

When my issues are all sorted, I'll be setting it to 13psi for my stock turbo and it might even be worth you looking at gettin a 33 turbo for nto much at all and throwing that on!!! (but not mine.. hahaha that has had a beatin hahaa)

I might just split the difference, make it 9psi until I get the FMIC, then go 10-11, maybe 12. Then look at a new turbo once I have a fuel pump, regulator and new injectors...............crap! I am doing it again.... I just can't help myself....

just echoing Liz here,

give him a break, he asked a question ! yes there is a search function, however alot of times when i use it, it does not generate some threads that you think would be similar to a question you want to ask.

if it pisses you off that much, dont open the thread AND dont reply !

Burnsie mate, dont worry about em.

Im running between 9-10psi in my 33.

Also I guess if you do run more psi, the fuel cut defender will come in wouldnt it on a stock ECU

I will be running a Power FC computer when I get the tune done and up the boost, so I imagine that things like Fuel Cuts will be taken care of. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My RB25 on my 34 runs up to 80kPa(~12psi) boost. Only power mods is a pod, everything else is factory std. Im a lil surprised too, either my stock boost gauge is out(altho i didnt think it'd be out by that much) or ive got some factory freak that runs higher than normal boost. Ive read a no of threads on this topic n most seem to think a stock 34 should run 7-8psi boost max.

I guess by safest bet would be to get a aftermarket boost gauge to confirm this before i start playing with boost.

quinny - mate, unsure of the pfc with fuel cut, someone here with more knowledge or a tuner can confirm!!

g force - yep, an aftermarket boost guage is much more accurate if you want to play with your boost :)

Do you own this forum? nope, so shut the hell up as i dont have to listen to hero's like you saying "awww dont post"

krzysiu - then why didnt you say check out the 2nd page instead of being like that mate?

there was no need to post a reply like that.

jolinator - who are you referring to?

"stick to the wasteland where you belong"

"Whoretowns bitchiest circuit racer"

  • 3 weeks later...

I've just Installed a Turbotech Manual Boost Controller.. n adjusted the Boost as Low as Possible.. My Mods atm are Full Cat Back Zorst n HKS filter. I'm running "11.5 - 12 PSI..." tried to get it lower.. but the Screw to adjust it would fall off..., I'm assuming the Pod Filter n Zorst is giving the Extra Psi..???

Will this run ok?? I use Nulon Pro Octane Booster on Fast Cruises.. on top of BP Ulitimate 98. I'm worried it might detonate on warmer days during summer or fast cruises during the day.

Oh yeh one More question.. i've haven't experienced Pinging, What is it exactly.. n what is it like????

Cheers
