Heyall

just a quick question basicly im considering purchasing a set of 18inch wheels with 8inch wide front offset 37

and 9inch wide rear offset 43 for my R34 Gtt but not sure if they will fit (clearing suspension and brakes). some say the ideal offset for gtt is 30-32 + for front and 35-40 + for rear.

the owner said they were ordered for his s15 but had since sold his car and he reckons there would fit gtt no problems

so any help or advice would be much appreciated.

cheers

double check this, but i think you have to lock the hicas because larger wheels 'confuse' it and make it think the wheels are slipping.

+37 for the fronts MAY fit, depend on whether the wheel has high disk clearance. +43 for the rears almost definate they won't clear the brakes.

Remember, stock 34 wheels are 17x7.5 +40 front and rear.

I would be very wary about buying the above mentioned wheels unless trial fitting is allowed before purchase. Chances are you will probably need spacers. What wheels are these by the way?

rays GT7 are the ones im looking at (my avator pic), and yeah i have confirmation +37 front will fit but still unsure of rear +43, seems noone has done it before.

also considering GTR wheels which i know will fit no problem been +30 all round. what do u reckon Jon?

slip on spacers are cheap...you can pick them up for around $10 each or thereabouts...

The bolt on ones are dearer, they start at around $100 per pair roughly. I've used both...wouldn't ever recommend it unless you are desperate.

why woundnt you recommend them? arent bolt on ones legal?

i have these on my 34 sedan blitz technospeed..18x8.5 +35 and 18x9.5 +38

no spacers no rubbing anywhere..i would say perfect fit for 34

fronts are "A" disc clearance which are needed for 310mm r34 brakes

All spacers are illegal, regardless of slip on or bolt on. although Bolt on ones are safer IMO, they are still illegal.

using the wheel offset calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Ur inner clearance from strut housing will be 22mm LESS

Ur Outer position will extend an extra 16mm

This is in comparison to your stock wheel offsets. From the above you may likely experience rubbing on the strut housing due to the clearance becoming 22mm less.
